Overview

The 2017 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe is a midsize coupe offered as a standalone trim with a base MSRP of $89,400. For that price, it competes with more affordable rivals such as the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe, the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe, and the BMW 6 Series Coupe. The 911 Carrera offers a 3.0L Twin-Turbo Flat-6 engine which makes 370 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. However, there is a choice between a 7-speed manual transmission and an optional 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The 911 Carrera reaches 60 mph from zero in 4.4 seconds with the manual transmission, which gets pumped up to 4.2 seconds with the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Depending on the powertrain, the 911 Carrera can manage a combined fuel economy between 23 and 25 mpg. While we're on the topic of choices, the 17 striking colors the 911 Carrera comes in really pull you towards itself.

Buying Advice

The 911 Carrera has a standard rear-wheel drive system. However, it can be ordered with the all-wheel drive system as well. That said, we recommend the optional Premium Package Plus with 18-way Adaptive Sport Seats Plus that tries to fill the features gap. It adds heated and cooled front seats, auto-dimming mirrors, LED headlights, and more.
