BMW has always been eye-catching for the audience. The BMW X6 has an equally impressive style and performance along with its reliability. At a starting range of $65,295, the car is rather affordable for a premium vehicle of its kind. The X6 is a midsize SUV that sold 7,291 units in 2020. According to the NHTSA, there are 0 complaints and 8 recalls recorded against the 2020 X6. Though the complaints are 0, people have faced some common issues with the engine. Most of the owners have chosen the X6 because the brand has maintained good reliability ratings. However, several people found issues with defective swirl flaps and also excessive heating of the engine. Besides the issues, the X6 does have some strong rivals in the market comprising the Porsche Cayenne, the Mercedes- Benz AMG GLE 43 Coupe, and the Land Rover Range Rover Sport.

Mechanical Problem

  • Engine- The users have faced some common issues with the engine. They have noticed problems including defective swirl flaps that result in breaking and shutting down the car. The breaking of this part can allow metal debris into the engine that might cease the unit. In case of such an occurrence, the users will need to be replacing it with a new engine.
  • Steering- The user complained about the steering column. It is quite hard to turn the wheel left or right while driving at high speeds. Maintaining regular service intervals can reduce this problem.
  • Brake - The user complained about facing issues while applying the brake at a high speed. Driving the car at a high speed and suddenly while applying brakes the brake system was too slow to reduce the car's speed. The brakes do not respond quickly while driving at a high speed which increases the risk of a crash or injury. This can be fixed by replacing the (ABS) Antilock Braking System

Exterior Problems

  • Rattling from the doors- the user faced issues with the poor fitting of the car doors that can be noticed while driving the car at a high speed as well as in the bumps and rough surfaced roads. This results in continuous noise that may disturb the focus while driving.
