Overview

Since a lot of high-end automakers have entered the SUV space, Alfa Romeo decided to have a piece of that pie by introducing the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. Since this Italian automaker is new to the format, they decided to simply resize their sedan, the Alfa Romeo Giulia, and make it look like an SUV.

The SUV sticks to the traditional Alfa Romeo styling with the iconic Scudetto grille and curves that remind you of Monica Bellucci. The Stelvio comes equipped with the same 2.0 liter inline-4 found in the Giulia that pushes out 280 horses and is capable of achieving a 0-60 in 5.4 seconds. A starting price of $41,995 makes the Stelvio a much more affordable premium SUV when compared to the German offerings and Alfa Romeo offers the buyers an array of choices in terms of the trims starting from the base and ranging all the way to the Ti Sport.

Buying Advice

The Alfa Romeo Stelvio will get a lot of attention as it’s the newest player in the luxury compact SUV segment and apart from the beautiful design, the Stelvio has a very fun driving character all thanks to its responsive engine. The base trim in itself comes packed with all the necessary features but at $50,000, the Stelvio Ti adds 19-inch alloy wheels, all-season tires, a dual-pane sunroof, and an oak wood interior accents just to name a few. However, if you’re one of the few that seek track-worthy performance in a compact SUV, the Stelvio Quadrifoglio is just your thing as it’s powered by a Ferrari-sourced V6 that can go from 0 to 60 in just 3.4 seconds but remember, the Quadrifoglio doesn’t come cheap and cost a whopping $81,590.
