Overview

The 2021 Lexus RC 300 Coupe is a compact coupe offered in four trims, starting off at a base MSRP of $42,220. For that price, it mainly competes with the Audi A5, the BMW 4-Series, and the Infiniti Q60. Between four trims, the RC 300 offers two powertrains. The base engine is a 2.0L Turbocharged Inline-4 engine capable of making 241 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. If more power is required there is also a 260-horsepower 3.5L V6 engine. However, depending on the powertrain, there is also a choice between a 6-speed automatic transmission and an 8-speed automatic transmission. The RC 300 reaches 60 MPH from zero in 5.8 seconds on its base engine, which gets reduced to 6.0 seconds flat with the 3.5L V6 engine. The RC 300 can manage a combined fuel economy of between 24 and 21 MPG depending on the powertrain. While we're on the topic of choices, the 2021 Lexus RC 300 is available in six striking colors. But none really pulls you towards itself as the Infrared Red.

Buying Advice

We would recommend the Base trim of the 2021 Lexus RC 300 because it starts at a lower base price and yet it manages to churn out almost identical numbers in terms of performance. On top of that, the base engine achieves 0-60 MPH with-in 5.8 seconds which is considerably better than the F-Sport trim. For the record, the base trim returns with 24 MPG of fuel economy combined as compared to the 21 MPG of fuel economy combined on the F-Sport trim.
