Overview

The 2013 Lexus IS F Sedan makes for an excellent contender in the compact sedan segment. With standalone trim on offer, the Lexus IS F has a base MSRP of $61,750. It competes directly with the Mercedes-Benz AMG C63. Other potential rivals are the Audi S4 and Cadillac ATS Performance Sedan which are less powerful and cheaper. That said, only a 5.0L V8 engine is offered, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Together, they produce 416 horsepower and 371 lb-ft of torque. Accelerating from 0-60 in 4.7 seconds, the IS F maintains a combined fuel economy of 18 MPG. Lexus offers the IS F in 6 stunning colors, with the Ultrasonic Blue Mica being a particular favorite of ours.

Buying Advice

Lexus throws in only one trim to choose from. Therefore, we recommend going with the navigation system which includes a 7-inch display and a rearview camera. Besides, we also think that the optional 14-speaker Mark Levinson surround-sound audio system, adaptive cruise control, and parking sensors (front and rear) make a whole lot of sense for the money.
