Overview

The 2018 Chevrolet Impala Sedan is a fullsize sedan offered in 3 trims, starting off at a base MSRP of $27,895. For that price, it mainly competes with the Toyota Avalon, the Nissan Maxima, and the Chrysler 300. Between 3 trims, the Impala offers 2 powertrain options. The base engine is a 2.5L inline 4 capable of making 197 horsepower and 191 lb-ft of torque. If more power is required, there is also a 305 horsepower-making 3.6L V6. Both engines are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Impala reaches 60 MPH from zero in 6.7 seconds on its base engine, which gets pumped up to 6.0 seconds with the V6 engine. Depending on the powertrain, the Impala can manage a combined fuel economy between 22 and 25 MPG. While we're on the topic of choices, the 10 striking colors the Impala comes in really pull you towards itself.

Buying Advice

We recommend the mid-tier LT trim which gets standard dual-zone climate control, leather-wrapped steering wheel, remote start, etc. For an even better experience, the Driver Confidence package is available which costs an additional $495 and adds driver assistance features like Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Keeping Assist, etc
