Overview

The 2012 Chevrolet Impala makes for an excellent contender in the fullsize sedan class. With 3 trims on offer, the Chevrolet Impala has a base MSRP of $25,760, with prices going all the way up to MSRP $30,300, competing directly with the Ford Taurus and the Toyota Avalon. Only a 3.6L V6 engine is offered, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Together, they produce 300 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. Accelerating from 0-60 in 5.9 seconds, the Impala maintains a combined fuel economy of 22 MPG. Chevrolet offers the Impala in 9 stunning colors, with the dark tropic teal metallic being a particular favorite of ours.

Buying Advice

Based on the value offered for the money, the base trim is good but stepping up to the mid-level LT trim makes more sense, as it adds remote ignition, leather-wrapped shift knob dual-zone manual climate control, a folding rear seat, a rear center armrest, and outside temperature display, a trip computer with compass and outside temperature display just for an additional $2000.

Chevrolet Impala: Where Classic Elegance Meets Modern Performance

Pros - ["Pretty decent power", "Easily able to fix most parts on it", "A nice, smooth ride for the most part"]

Cons - ["There's no customization for it", "Feels like it could or should be better on gas", "Could be a bit more comfortable to sit in"]

Owning a chevy Impala I would say has its ups and downs, but for the most part, they're benefits. Performance is ok, it has a good acceleration and a good overall power for being what it is. MPG is pretty decent, but it feels like for what the car is, it should be better. The interior is for the most part nice, it has a nice wood grain on certain parts, but for me, I like more of the vinyl textur...
