... They quoted us a large figure to get it back. ( it had low mileage ) . Offered to get back to us - but they never called. Went to other Buick dealers, but they said are vehicle was now only worth $ 30,000 . ( with 43 miles on it.) I offered $ 7000.00 to go up to the Avenir model, but they said no. ... start the car it doesn’t seem to want to turn over right away, and start. This has left me thinking it’s not going to. Took it to dealership and they said it was the high pressure filter, so they replaced it, that was 2 days ago. Today same issue but took even longer, I really thought I had a problem today. Now dealer is taking it again to check.Read More

The Buick Enclave is a decent vehicle of choice if you're ever looking for one in the midsize SUV segment. The Buick SUV gives you refined driving dynamics; with three rows of space and tranquility, and a very spacious cargo room as well, the vehicle is as good as they come. It is also decent in terms of reliability. With no recalls and just 33 complaints made, the question of 2018 Enclave reliability, is easy to answer. Just a few problems with the auto-start and stop feature, the brakes functioning, and transmission shifting, but there is no other area of worry. We shall find out now how the 2018 Buick Enclave fairs against the likes of Nissan Murano, the Volkswagen Atlas, and the GMC Acadia.

User Complaints and Problems for the 2018 Buick Enclave

Mechanical Problems

  • The brakes locking and not working: The brake would lock up for various users and has caused some near-death experiences for some. For others, the brakes would straight up not work. In one distinct case, the emergency brake couldn’t disengage and was causing great inconvenience.
  • Transmission shifting into neutral for no reason: Multiple users have stated that the vehicle had an issue where mid-operation the vehicle would shift into neutral, and consequently, rev up unnecessarily. For most, this could have caused potential problems, but none were fortunately met.

Electrical Problems

  • Electrical malfunction of the auto-start/stop function: The most common 2018 Buick Enclave issue was related to the electrical system malfunctioning. The auto-stop/start functioning is the most annoying and dangerous one. Many times the feature would activate even when the vehicle was running. Then the users either had to repeatedly press the start/stop button or find other manual methods to restart the vehicle. Various messages like "service transmission", and "service brakes", also randomly appear once the vehicle is restarted, causing great concern for the users.

Recalls for the 2018 Buick Enclave

There have been no recalls made against the 2018 Enclave.

Should you buy the 2018 Buick Enclave

Seeing that the 2018 Enclave has very few complaints and no recalls, the vehicle can be said to be a good choice. It comes with all the features a potential SUV owner would look for. The seats are roomy and silent while in motion, there is plenty of cargo room along with other features, and it is a solid deal. Sure, the Nissan Murano might get a slight edge in terms of room and comfort. But if you want practicality, the Buick Enclave edges out a bit. It wouldn’t hurt if you are planning to buy the Enclave to do a quick check-up and see if all the software is up to date. No one wants their vehicle to stop in the middle of driving it.
