The 2019 MINI Countryman makes for an excellent contender in the subcompact wagon class. With three trims on offer, the MINI Countryman has a base MSRP of $26,900, with prices going all the way up to MSRP $37,900, with no direct competition whatsoever. The indirect rivals for the MINI include the BMW X1, the Mercedes-Benz GLA 250, and the Buick Encore. Only a 1.5L turbocharged Inline-3 engine is offered, mated to a 6 speed manual transmission. Together, they produce 134 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. Accelerating from 0-60 in 7.2 seconds, the Countryman maintains a combined fuel economy of 26 MPG. MINI offers the Countryman in 9 stunning colors, with the Island Blue being a particular favorite of ours.

Buying Advice

The MINI Countryman is one of the best wagons in the business considering its price. Available in three different trims, the mid level Signature trim offers the most value for its money. The base trim offers most of the luxury tech and features. However, the signature trim opens the door to some significant features like keyless entry, automatic high-beam control, adaptive cruise control, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, forward collision warning, and touchscreen functionality for a price difference of $3,000.
