Overview

The Jeep Wrangler is one of the few cars that has had such a significant influence on culture. Customers wishing to travel off-road have long relied on the Jeep Wrangler as their first choice. The Wrangler has evolved through time to become the "halo" vehicle for the Jeep. Despite being bigger and more comfortable it still represents the rugged, go-anywhere capabilities and American uniqueness. The current Wrangler provides a variety of creature conveniences and a choice of advanced powertrains and styling that can be upgraded as per user requirements.

Buying Advice

We will recommend the mid-range Sport S version of the Wrangler for its premium features, which include heated mirrors, air conditioning, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power windows, and locks. Additionally, we'd also choose the Technology package due to its bigger 7.0-inch touchscreen and compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Fuel Economy
4.0/10

The 2021 Jeep Wrangler places a strong emphasis on its appearance but not much on its fuel economy, the enjoyment factor of choosing a two-door Wrangler may increase, but fuel efficiency may not.

According to EPA, the base V6 models offer a mileage of 17 MPG in the city, 25 MPG on the highway, and 20 MPG combined. On the other hand, the Wrangler gains 21 MPG in the city, 24 MPG on the highway, and 24 MPG combined with a turbo-4 and four doors. The diesel engine, which has a maximum efficiency of 22 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway, is found in the most fuel-efficient model. It offers a range of 438 miles on the highway thanks to its fuel tank capacity of 17.5 gallons in its class.

In comparison, the Ford Bronco 2021 excels with a fuel efficiency of 20 MPG in the city, the Wrangler 2021 offers 25 MPG on the highway, and the Bronco offers 21 MPG combined. On the other hand, the Land Rover Defender 2021 offers a range of 491 miles on the highway thanks to its exceptional fuel tank capacity of 23.4 gallons which is better than most of its adversaries while the Ford Bronco 2021 lurks at the bottom of the table with a fuel tank capacity of 16.9 gallons. With all statics, we can say that the Ford Bronco 2021 is a much better fuel-efficient vehicle present in its class.

Interior
5.0/10

The Wrangler offers a seamless fusion of traditional and contemporary Jeep character, while not being the roomiest or most accommodating SUV on the market. The least amount of shoulder and legroom in the front seat would disappoint the occupants, making it less comfortable than the competition. Easy maneuverability is made possible by a commanding perspective of the road or path, but the vision backward is obstructed by the vehicle's large roof pillars, roll bars, and different grasp grips. The doors may be easily removed by popping the top, The wrangler features two doors and four seats and it comes with cloth upholstery as standard. Since the Wrangler has an upright body form, even tall individuals can ride in both rows without feeling cramped, headroom is not a concern. As you might anticipate, choosing the smaller, two-door Wrangler over the bigger, four-door Unlimited model has a major impact on cargo capacity.

In comparison, the Jeep Wrangler 2021 has the least cargo capacity of 12.9 cu-ft which can expand to 31.7 cu-ft with the rear seats folded down, which would be problematic for four passengers traveling on freeways. On the other hand, the Toyota 4 runner 2021 rear seats provide the best cargo capacity of 47.2 cu-ft with upright rear seats than can be folded and expanded to 89.7 cu-ft cargo capacity that's above average for a midsize SUV, and the boxy load room makes it simple to carry bulky stuff.

Some of its key interior features are

  • Front seats with cloth back material and manual driver lumbar.
  • Manual tilt/telescoping steering column.
  • 6-way driver seat including manual recline, height adjustment, fore/aft movement, manual lumbar support, and manual rear seat easy entry.
  • 4-way passenger seat manual recline, fore/aft movement, and manual rear seat easy entry.
  • Proximity key for push button start only.
  • Manual adjustable front head restraints and foldable rear head restraints.

How intuitive is the 2021 Jeep Wrangler Infotainment system?

A Wrangler may be equipped with merely the necessities or with the latest in contemporary multimedia equipment. Its Uconnect infotainment interface, which comes with three different-sized touchscreens, is simple to operate, responsive, and user-friendly. An 8-speaker stereo system, two USB connections, and a 5-inch touchscreen are all part of the Sport's infotainment system while navigation, a nine-speaker Alpine audio system, and Apple Car Play and Android Auto are all options.

Some of its key infotainment features include

  • 5-inch touchscreen display.
  • An eight-speaker audio system.
  • Bluetooth.
  • USB ports.
  • Radio.
  • Voice-activated audio control.

Exterior
8.0/10

The design still maintains a nice appearance, despite not having undergone any significant alterations since the fourth generation was introduced in 2018. The hefty bumpers and traditional seven-slot grille on the front end give it a distinctive appearance. Higher trims also come with the option of LED headlights with integrated LED DRLs. The sides and back also have the same macho style. The 2021 Jeep Wrangler appears more purposeful than its adversaries thanks to its best-in-class height and ground clearance. The bulky side mirrors, exposed door hinges, and 17-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires all contribute to the character of the vehicle. There aren't many vehicles on the road as readily recognized as the Wrangler.

In comparison, the Jeep Wrangler 2021 excels with a much higher ground clearance that measures 9.7 inches this makes driving on difficult and uphill terrain simpler and enhances driving performance on uneven surfaces. On the other hand, the Ford Bronco 2021 has a much larger wheelbase measuring 137.3 inches and provides better stability while it accelerates quickly than shorter wheelbase vehicles. The Land Rover Defender 2021 comes equipped with track widths measuring 67.1 and 66.9 inches at the front and rear.

Some of its key exterior features include

  • 17-inch black steel-styled wheels.
  • Black manual side mirrors with manual folding.
  • Light tinted glass.
  • Variable intermittent windshield wipers.
  • Body-colored grille.
  • Front fog lamps.

Safety
8.3/10

The 2021 Jeep Wrangler doesn’t come equipped with a lot of hefty safety features as standard, while there are some necessary safety equipment, such as ABS, airbags, traction control, stability control, side-impact beams, and many more. Some of the optional features like rear cross-traffic warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, etc of which are available only if you choose the appropriate extra packages. Except for the driver-side small overlap test, where it received a "Marginal" rating from the IIHS, the Wrangler received "Good" ratings across the board. The NHTSA revealed a three-star rollover test result and a concerning four-star rating for front collision safety.

Some of its salient key safety features are

  • Rearview camera.
  • Dual stage driver and passenger seat-mounted side airbags.
  • Side impact beams.
  • Airbag occupancy sensor.
  • Outboard front lap and shoulder safety belts including height adjusters.
  • Tire-specific low tire pressure warning.

Competition
6.0/10

2021 Jeep Wrangler vs 2021 Toyota 4 Runner

The Toyota 4Runner makes considerably better use of the available space than the Jeep Wrangler, which seems to be roomier on paper. In addition to appearing larger, it also has more comfortable seats. The Wrangler's powertrain excels in being economical and tractable, but the 4Runner has better road manners and a drive that doesn't cause tiredness or worry. While the Wrangler is best suited for short trips only, you may think of the 4Runner as a long-distance cruiser. The 4Runner still has all the off-roading charms, even if it may not be as well-equipped as the Wrangler and is priced far less.

2021 Jeep Wrangler vs 2021 Land Rover Defender

A manual transmission is available on the Jeep Wrangler for more control, sportiness, and acceleration. There isn't a manual transmission available for the Land Rover Defender. The roots of the new Defender may be traced back almost as long as the Wranglers, replacing a model that was many decades old. Although it costs a lot more than a regular Wrangler, it comes equipped with a good amount of off-road capabilities. The Defender will likely have more refined interior features.

2021 Jeep Wrangler vs 2021 Ford Bronco

With the Jeep Wrangler squarely in its sights, the Ford Bronco 2021 entered the market this year. Its starting price of $29,995 is $970 less than the Jeep, which is most definitely not by accident. Over the years, the Wrangler's interior has evolved from a utilitarian design to one that is rather pleasant. The square form ensures that there is no sloping roof to reduce headroom, even in the back seats, and the seats are plush and supportive. Even in the two-door form, the Bronco's seats are cozy and provide plenty of space. The seats may use additional bolstering, according to testers, to make occupants feel more secure, but that is the only negative. Additionally, the Bronco is a quicker car and has a larger interior with better fuel economy. All of this elevates the Bronco to a superior choice.

Final Verdict
7.4/10

Yes, we will recommend buying the 2021 Jeep Wrangler as it is available in a wide range of trims and sub-trims that provide many possibilities and it carries a unique styling that makes its appearance different than other SUVs in its class. If you're set on purchasing a Wrangler, off-roading ought to be at the top of your bucket list. No matter if you do light or serious off-roading, there is a Wrangler model that will meet your demands. There are competitors that offer more comfort, internal amenities, and on-road ride quality but the Jeep Wrangler is unquestionably the greatest in its market and prioritizes off-road dominance which includes a variety of powertrains options than ever before with the addition of a V8 and plug-in hybrid option making it a preferable choice for most buyers.

Willow Envy. That is the name of my gecko green Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport S. Willow Envy is the name of my dream car come to life! She is a tried and true American beauty. I custom-ordered this Jeep and it has not disappointed! Jeep wrangler review

Pros - ["Great power with the V6.", "Still comes with standard transmission"]

Cons - ["Don't like the fact it has recalls on the pressure plate and clutch assembly. Makes me think there will be future problems.", "The latches on the seat break and are weak. No easy fix for it."]

Overall a fun Jeep to cruise around with. No major problems put 20k miles last year and she keeps on rolling. The fun in the Jeep overrides any problems that arose. The mpg is pretty good. Speed and acceleration are excellent.
