Overview
The 2014 Honda CR-Z Hatchback fares well in the compact hatchback segment, the CR-Z carries a base price of MSRP $19,995 and is offered in two trims. The engine on service here is a familiar 1.5L Inline-4 engine supported by a 15-kWh electric motor. Mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, it makes 130 horsepower and 140 lb-ft of torque. There is also a continuously variable transmission available which tones down the output to 127 horsepower. The combined fuel economy on offer is 34 MPG, making the increase in sticker price worth it. The performance of the CR-Z hybrid is quite impressive, with the car accelerating from 0 to 60 MPH in 7.7 seconds. Honda offers 6 colors for the CR-Z hybrid. The CR-Z mainly competes with the Toyota Prius C Hybrid, and indirectly with the Ford C-Max Hybrid from wagons.
