Overview

The Honda Accord was completely redesigned just last year. The 2024 Honda Accord comes without any major changes and is part of the 11th generation of the Honda Accord. In this SUV-fanatic era, the Honda Accord 2024 stands with pride in the midsize sedan segment under $30,000. The 2024 Honda Accord price starts at $27,895, and for that price, it is one of the best Honda cars to buy in 2024.

The 2024 Honda Accord Hybrid exists alongside the standard Accord. Honda has made sure to keep the number of trim configurations with good features in check to avoid confusion. However, the newly released 2024 Hyundai Sonata poses a real danger to it. Generally, the Accord competes with the likes of the Chevrolet Malibu, the Subaru Legacy, and the Kia K5. Check out the video by Doug Demuro to learn more about the 11th-generation Honda Accord.

Key observations in the video:

  • Superior gas mileage with hybrid trims
  • No EV or plug-in hybrid on offer
  • Basic simple design
  • Quirky interior design
  • Intuitive infotainment system

Buying Advice

We would recommend the 2024 Honda Accord EX, as it comes with many more features than the base LX trim for around $2,000 more. Some of the additional features that this trim comes with are dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a better 8-speaker sound system. However, if you are looking for better fuel economy and are willing to spend more, then you can opt for Honda Accord 2024 Hybrid models as per your requirements.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

The new Honda Accord 2024 model is the same as the previous model year. Honda has not made any changes to the 11th-generation Accord, and we don't complain. The J.D. Power Consumer Rating for the 2024 Accord is not yet available. However, the 2023 Accord scored a great overall score of 81/100. For quality and reliability, it scored 83/100, while for dealership experience, it received an average score of 78/100. For resale and driving experience, the Accord scored 80/100, which is very good.

The 2024 Honda Accord LX can be financed at a low APR of 7.49% for a term of 60 months and a monthly payment of $633. It can be leased for a term of 36 months with monthly payments of $430 and an annual limit of 10,000 miles. Also, $2,480 will be due at signing. The actual payments will vary depending on your mode of finance, term duration, selected accessories, and credit score. The above calculations are applicable for buyers with a credit score of 740 or higher.

Features
8.5/10

The standard 2024 Accord is available in two trim configurations: LX and EX. The 2024 Honda Accord price starts at an MSRP of $27,895 for the base LX trim, while the EX trim is priced at $29,910. Both the prices mentioned are excluding destination charges of $1,095. The base LX trim is pretty basic and offers minimal features for the asking price. However, it does not compromise on six ADAS safety features. Comparing both trims highlights some of the key feature differences between them.

2024 Honda Accord Packages:

Besides the All-Season and Protection Packages, both the LX and EX trims can be equipped with the HPD Styling Package. It adds features like an underbody spoiler for the front, rear, and sides, a black decklid spoiler, a door mirror cover, and an HPD emblem. The styling package costs $2,075 and adds some zing to the rather bland exterior styling.

Engine and Performance
7.0/10

Under the hood of the 2024 Honda Accord is the tried and tested 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 192 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a CVT and power is transferred to the front wheels only. The 2024 Honda Accord 0-60 sprint time of 7.3 seconds is not the best but very much what the segment has to offer. With all that power, the Honda Accord can reach a top speed of 120 mph. If you want better performance then the 204-hp, Accord Hybrid would be a better option with a 0-60 time of 6.6 seconds.

The 2024 Accord offers a pretty comfortable ride experience, dealing with bumpy roads quite well. While driving it does not go anywhere, and stays right on the line. Honda did a really good job with the suspension and the chassis of this vehicle and spent a lot of time making this vehicle comfortable and making it a good daily driving car. The handling of this car is also confidence-inspiring, it feels very stable around the corners. The ride and handling performance makes it feel like a well-balanced midsize sedan

In terms of overall value the first position is taken by the Subaru Legacy. Despite being the cheapest of the bunch it delivers decent performance and AWD as standard. It goes from 0-60 in just 6 seconds and has a top speed of 130 mph. In terms of outright performance comes the Accord, which does 0 to 60 in mere 7.3 seconds. Now in second position comes the Kia K5, which goes from 0-60 in 7.6 seconds and has a top speed that is similar to Malibu and Legacy. The Malibu 0-60 and Legacy 0-60 times are very similar, despite the power difference between them.

Fuel Economy
7.0/10

The 2024 Honda Accord mpg ratings are 29 mpg in the city, 37 mpg on the highway, and 32 mpg in combined conditions. With a gas tank size of 14.8 gallons, the 2024 Honda Accord range is decent but not the best in its segment. It can travel up to 474 miles in combined driving conditions on a full tank of gas without having to refill again.

The Honda Accord has the best fuel economy, and with a decent-sized fuel tank, the driving range is decent. The Kia K5 comes in second, delivering similar fuel economy, a larger fuel tank, and better driving range. Close behind comes the Subaru Legacy in third place, which also provides lower fuel economy but has the best driving range courtesy of its larger gas tank. The Malibu comes pretty close to the Legacy in terms of fuel economy but loses on the range front, owing to its small gas tank.

Interior
7.0/10

The 2024 Honda Accord interior is quite functional and ergonomic, accommodating up to five passengers. It is filled with some modern features like a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster, a smart key system, and many more. The inside of the 2024 Accord is familiar, as seen on the CR-V and Civic. The sleek honeycomb trim is spread across the length of the dashboard, hiding air vents inside. The front and rear rows of seats offer decent support, while Honda claims that the front seats offer more torso support than before.

The interior cloth upholstery can be black or gray. More premium leather upholstery is reserved for hybrid trims. The 2024 Honda Accord trunk space of 16.7 cu-ft is one of the largest in the segment, making this sedan more practical. The rear seats get foldable seatbacks, and 60/40-split foldable seatbacks are reserved for the EX trim. The base LX trim gets single-zone automatic climate control, while the EX offers a dual-zone climate control system.

Inside, the Honda Accord is pretty spacious, especially for rear-seat passengers. Even the trunk space is one of the best. The Kia K5's trunk space is decent, but rear seat legroom is compromised. The Subaru Legacy offers very good comfort owing to better shoulder room and legroom at the rear. However, its cargo space is the lowest. The Chevrolet Malibu strikes a good balance between rear seat comfort and trunk space.

The 2024 Accord's infotainment system is intuitive. The standard Accord gets a 7-inch touchscreen display with support for connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, it receives only a 4-speaker sound system in the base LX trim. The EX trim offers an 8-speaker sound system for better output. A larger infotainment screen, Google built-in features, and a 12-speaker Bose premium sound system are reserved for top-end Honda Accord Touring Hybrid trim.

Some of the standout interior features of the 2024 Accord are:

  • Heated front seats
  • Power Moonroof
  • Self-opening trunk
  • Power adjustable driver's seat
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

Exterior
7.0/10

The Honda Accord is not exactly a head-turner but holds its own in the segment. The 2024 Accord features quite a stately design with slim LED headlights and a pretty large hexagonal grille, along with a wide air intake on the bottom of the bumper. The smooth body lines, along with the slightly taller roofline, are the main aspect of the Accord’s side profile.

The Honda Accord 2024 model sits on a long wheelbase and is dimensionally larger than some of its competitors. All these design features enhance the already-known exterior of the Accord. In short, it can be said that the Accord comes with modern and good looks, and useful features and functions enhance the Accord even more.

The Honda Accord's exterior dimensions are well-endowed, resulting in a more comfortable interior. It's not the heaviest and sits rightly in the middle of the comparison, with the Subaru Legacy being the heaviest, courtesy of its bigger engine and AWD system.

The Chevrolet Malibu is the lightest, thanks to the smallest powertrain in the segment. The Kia K5 benefits from high-speed stability owing to its longer wheelbase, while the Accord comes pretty close to it, followed by the Malibu. However, the Subaru Legacy's shorter wheelbase makes it a better-handling car.

Safety
9.5/10

The 2024 Honda Accord is equipped with Honda Sensing driver-assistance features as standard. The NHTSA has not yet tested the Honda Accord for safety. The IIHS had tested the same generation Accord and awarded it the Top Safety Pick+ for the 2023 model year. Besides driver-assistance features, the Accord boasts multiple active and passive safety features like vehicle stability assist, brake assist, automatic collision notification, and ACE body structure, to name a few. So, the 2024 Honda Accord is a midsize sedan with a high safety quotient.

Some of the standout safety features of the 2024 Accord include:

  • Forward collision warning
  • Lane-keeping assist system
  • Lane departure warning
  • Collision mitigation braking system
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Blind spot information system
  • Traffic jam assist
  • Traffic sign recognition system

Competition
8.5/10

2024 Honda Accord vs. 2024 Chevrolet Malibu

The Accord and the Malibu are two very well-built vehicles in the midsize sedan segment. The Accord offers much better performance and fuel economy than the Malibu; this vehicle completely dominates the Chevy Malibu in almost all possible aspects, including reliability.

Although Malibu is cheaper, it provides an adequate number of features. In short, choosing one vehicle between these two is not a tough job; you should go for the Accord, as it will be a better option and it will be more worth the money, even though it is costlier than the Malibu.

2024 Honda Accord vs. 2024 Subaru Legacy

The Honda Accord and the Subaru Legacy are capable offerings. Both of these vehicles provide decent performance; the Accord is slightly quicker than the Legacy in terms of 0–60, and while the top speed is similar, it is also quite smaller in size than the Accord.

And in most other aspects, the Accord dominates over the Legacy as it delivers more power, the braking in it is smoother and it offers more fuel economy. Overall, the Honda Accord is a much better choice in its segment, as it provides many features and is more worth the money.

2024 Honda Accord vs. 2024 Kia K5

The K5 and the Accord are two very liked and affordable sedans in the midsize sedan segment for their huge list of features that are offered as standard and also for their interior and exterior looks. The Accord offers better exterior design and fuel economy than the K5, while the Kia proves to be a better sedan in terms of performance. In short, choosing one car between these two is a tough job, but if you have to go for one, then the Honda Accord will be a much better option.

Final Verdict
8.5/10

Whether you should go for the 2024 Honda Accord or not, first of all, depends on your preferences. This midsize family comes with several features, performs quite well, and has a very impressive fuel economy that simply justifies the price of this car. It either dominates or gives a good fight to most of its rivals in the midsize family sedan segment.

It is also the highest-rated and one of the most loved vehicles because of its reliability, comfort, and handling. This vehicle shines in almost every aspect, so opting for it will be an excellent choice. However, before making a decision, check out the new 2024 Hyundai Sonata, which has been redesigned and offers very desirable features along with an AWD system.

One of the worst cars I've ever had

Pros - ["The shape is nice", "Comfortable", "Nice ok mileage"]

Cons - ["Automatic Braking safety issues", "Had it 9 months 10 times in shop trunk sometimes opens automatically", "The automatic Braking is dangerous idiot lights"]

I really like the style of this car but unfortunately I've had it in the shop approximately 10 times it will break automatically when you least expect it which is very dangerous It's a problem with a lot of these Hondas It's been reported to the National Safety. I did not buy this car to keep driving to the dealership to get maintenance on things that are wrong

              Fast, reliable, and feels luxurious!

Pros - [""Interior features"", ""Turbo engine/speed""]

Cons - [""Could be better a larger gas tank"", ""Tires are expensive""]

I absolutely love this vehicle. To start, the interior is awesome. It's not all leather seats which I wish was in my model but the rest is amazing. The display brightness is easily controlled, apple car play and android auto, Sirius XM, and the ability to connect your phone without a smart app. The exterior is a sleek design, sporty, and stylish. The car is fast, has turbo, and the ability to d...
