The shop I went to said the computer reading just show them the battery was bad and nothing more. I am frustrated because I don't have a vehicle, insurance will cover a rental if accident but there was no accident. IRead More

The 2020 Chevrolet Traverse is a feature-packed SUV but that doesn’t mean the Traverse has managed to crawl out on the roads without any issues. It is reported the 2020 Traverse has 25 complaints and 8 recalls. The Traverse is well accepted by the people as it’s loaded with features and comes with a spacious cabin but the comfort it offers over bad patches is what defined the true character of this SUV. This segment is also shared by contenders like the 2020 Honda Pilot, 2020 Ford Explorer, and the 2020 Toyota Highlander which are SUVs that have equal potential to the Chevrolet Traverse.

User complaints and problems

Electrical Problems

  • Sensors: The surround vision sensors and the reverse camera which aid in easy maneuverability stopped working.
  • Fuse: A fuse blowout was reported that resulted in engaging auto-shutdown of the engine even at uncertain times.
  • Key fob: The key fob wasn’t unlocking/locking all the doors leaving the car in unsafe conditions

Mechanical Problems

  • Engine: The warning light was on for the engine post which the users noticed massive fluctuations in the fuel gauge before getting back to normal.
  • Transmission: The Traverse would stall and the car would not drive past 20 MPH post that. It was also noticed that the car wouldn’t get into the reverse gear.
  • Steering: A customer noticed the steering getting firm without any warnings which made it hard to maneuver the car.

Safety Problems

  • Airbags: None of the airbags were reported to deploy in the event of a crash by multiple customers.
  • Seatbelts: The locks on the seatbelts failed to release at times increasing the fatality in case of a crash.
  • Brakes: The brakes on the Traverse were reported to not engage at times.
  • Visibility: In humid weather conditions, the windshield fogs up and the wipers or the defroster fail to help make the situation better.

Exterior Problems

  • Taillights: Lights did not engage when braking and this can increase the chances of getting rear-ended by another vehicle.
  • Wheels: At highway speeds, it was noticed that the wheels started bouncing vigorously.

Interior Problems

  • Seats: Customer cut their hand when reaching for the key that fell in between the seat and the center console due to the sharp edge on the seat frame.
