    Warranty is very limited. Less then 85,000 and under 4 years old, doors are rusting on bottom inside edge of doors. GM and dealers know its a manufacturing problem. They had a recall for the issue on earlier models. I won't buy GM again.Read More

    Do not buy any of the Chevrolet vehicles with the 2.4L or 3.6L engine, including the Chevy Equinox. The engine components are made so poorly the engine timing chain will fail resulting in engine failure, just after the warranty is up. The 2017 Chevy Equinox has been marked with an 84-J.D power rating including 89 in "Quality and Reliability", 78 in "Driving Experience", 82 in "Resale", and 83 in "Dealership Experience". Along with that, we have got a 4-star NHTSA safety rating as well making it an SUV with no recall and no investigation for this MY. 

The Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Ford Escape are some of the finest rivals that have continued their rivalry for many years with the 2017 Equinox. And so do its trim configurations of L, LT, LS, and Premier, all of which have been equipped with a fuel economy of up to 32 MPG and a towing capacity of 1,500 lbs.

Safety Complaints

  • Airbag Deployment: The 2017 Equinox seems to have some reports regarding the improper airbag deployment which tends to fail as well. This increases the risk of injury at the time of the crash. 
  • Airbag Service Warning: The Equinox 2017 is prone to have unintended flickering on the digital cluster even if everything is all fine. 

Electric System Complaints

  • Air Conditioning: The 2017 Chevrolet Equinox can have malfunction at its air conditioning unit that starts breezing out hot air

  • Excessive oil consumption: The Equinox has got some problems in its oil unit as the SUV consumes too much oil within a small interval of time that can surely challenge the lubrication of its mechanical components.
