Overview

The 2019 BMW Z4 makes for an excellent contender in the compact convertible class. With a single trim on offer, the BMW Z4 has a base MSRP of $49,700. It competes directly with the Porsche 718 Boxster, the Audi TT Roadster, and the Mercedes-Benz C 300 Convertible. Only a 2.0L turbocharged Inline-4 engine is offered, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Together, they produce 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Accelerating from 0-60 in 5.2 seconds, the BMW Z4 maintains a combined fuel economy of 28 MPG. BMW offers the Z4 in 8 stunning colors, with the Misano Blue Metallic being a particular favorite of ours.

Buying Advice

When shopping for a new BMW Z4, there are a few things you'll want to keep in mind. First and foremost, the Z4 has a lot of options on hand, so be prepared to pay a bit more than you would for a standard vehicle. To be more specific, you would like the 2019 BMW Z4 to come with the M Sport package and Track Handling package, however, this package proves to be the best addition to the M40i versions that we review separately. For the base trim, we think standalone options like wireless charging and bundles like the Convenience package upgrade could do some wonders.
