The Audi TT has been the torchbearer of iconic Audi design for 25 years and is one of the most recognizable sports cars around the world. Sadly, the car is soon to be history with the 2022 model year being the final form of this iconic car. Although the TT is a legitimate sports car with superb performance, it’s the design of the TT that intoxicated enthusiasts since its launch 25 years ago, and the RS edition 10 years ago. Over time, in its evolution as a modern performance car, it has lost a lot of its original character and appears to have blended in with the crowd. However, the TT RS proves that the car is more than its looks and can put up a serious fight in its class. It's powered by a unique 2.5L turbocharged 5-cylinder engine that churns out 394 hp mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission with manual mode and Quattro all-wheel drive. This setup makes the TT RS a swift and responsive ride that does 0-60 in just 3.4 seconds.
On the outside, the TT RS tries to look like a modern sports car, but from the inside, the design and the setup are quite dated. For starters, the car lacks a central infotainment screen, and in turn, gets a display in the driver information cluster which makes the dashboard looks awfully empty. This setup is meant to invoke a feeling of an analog car that some customers are into. There is also nothing special about the safety tech in the TT RS beyond the usual blind spot monitoring and parking sensors. Fortunately, the car offers an elegant and comfortable interior with leather seats, power-adjustable steering, plenty of tactile controls which are frankly easier to use, and an exceptional 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo. The rear seats are less useful for people to sit on and are more suitable for smaller luggage.
The 2022 Audi TT RS retails for approximately $74,200. Add in extra 10 grand for the Heritage TT RS which is Audi’s way of signing it off in style.
The car does not have any user complaints and has not been recalled since its launch, as per the NHTSA records.
