Overview

The 2022 Aston Martin DBX gets only minor updates this year after being just launched last year. There are new and larger 23-inch wheels on offer while a wireless charger joins the list of standard features. Newly available optional Sports Plus seats offer better support when driving hard and there are 4 new interior themes on offer this year. The 2022 Aston Martin DBX price starts at $176,900 and if you want to see the Bond car in thorough detail, check out what Jack has to say from Jack and cars about the DBX in the video below.

Buying Advice

CARHP personally in favor of acknowledging optional packages, but not all. Indulge and La Carte packages are enough to make your SUV Aston Martin DBX. If shoppers are cranky for more loud exhaust sounds, then choosing the Sport Plus pack is worth it. Without such upgrades, the vehicle is complete, but adding more luxuries flexes your high net worth. Standard 22-inches wheels look large enough and stand out with a curvaceous design.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

For the 2022 generation, the SUV looks more appealing with available 23-inches alloy wheels. Shoppers can now charge their smartphones wirelessly, as it has now been added to the list. Newly introduced optional Sports Plus seats add more bolstering to secure passengers while hard-core cornering. Interior surrounding is now can be themed into four shades– Accelerate, Create, Impulse, and Inspire. Other things are meant to be kept unchanged. The SUV sits with rich kids of the class. It includes the Lamborghini Urus, the Bentley Bentayga, and the Rolls Royce Cullinan.

Features

Aston Martin DBX does not have any trim levels, Though the brand provides various features in it. It shows a 10.2-inch infotainment touchscreen that holds navigation with it. 22-inch wheels are standard with an option for 23-inches. Full leather upholstery with memory seat function.

Fuel Economy
6.5/10

With a powerful engine, mileage numbers hesitate to arise more. This SUV manages a combined figure of 16 mpg while giving 14 in the city and 20 on highways. Once it is filled with a tank of 22.5 gallons–shows a highway range of 450 miles (315 miles in city driving and 360 miles integrated).

Most fuel-efficient vehicle with the V8 engine is Betayega. Urus, DBX, and the Bentayega have an equal fuel carrying capacity. Despite having a V12 engine, the Rolls Royce Cullinan shows more mpg on the highways– someone would whisper due to lower top speed. Cullinan SUV also carries the most massive fuel tank of all. DBX archives more mpg and range figures than Urus. Highest range of all is managed by Bentayga, while Cullinan stands just behind with miles on the highway.

Interior
7.5/10

Interior of the DBX precisely feels like the manufacturer has made efforts, especially with the minute details of stitching on seats. Cabin is very spacious, and no one argues about the space in it. Front and rear doors are appropriately wide to feel composed while diving in and out. Rear door panels hold switches for window controls wrapped around elegantly in high-quality leather material. Front doors disperse the same thing with a topping of memory functions for front passengers. People sitting on the front and rear seats enjoy heating functions without upgrades– ventilation as an option. Three-spoke steering melted with dual tone finish holds the Aston Martin logo at center with a chrome border. Other controls are earned in piano black trim. The dashboard is subtle and clenches two AC vents on either side. A Standard 10.2-inch Mercedes-supplied touchscreen sits in between in a tilted position. Holds five controls above it. The instrument cluster is digital.

The Center console covers two properly lifted and cushiony hand rests. Gear selector harmonizing the interior theme is surrounded with chrome. A number of physical controls over it confuses the driver. The Interior is serene and the perforated seats ensure a gentle and enjoyable experience. Shoppers are offered to customize the cabin in 23 shades.

Front and second-row seats of DBX carry more room than Bentayga. Rolls Royce has tons of head space in front and second row, but it lacks the amount of legroom in front seats- a car more to be driven. Behind the first row, the Lamborghini Urus retains more cargo space than Aston Martin. Bentley would be the SUV to carry the shortest cargo when all seats are in place. Behind second-row seats, Aston Martin offers massive space for cargo.

Highlights of the cabin features of DBX–

  • 8-way driver seat
  • 8-way passenger seat
  • 40-20-40 power foldable rear seats
  • Power tilt and telescopic steering column
  • Power rear windows with fixed third-row window
  • Front and rear cupholder
  • Proximity key for doors and push button start
  • Compass
  • Valet function
  • Alcantara leather upholstery
  • Cruise control with steering wheel control
  • Dual-zone front automatic air conditioning
  • Illuminated locking glove box
  • Driver footrest
  • Daynight auto-dimming rearview mirror
  • Full carpet floor covering
  • Front and rear map lights
  • Fade-to-off interior lightings
  • Rigid cargo cover
  • Driver and passenger rear door bins
  • Power door locks with auto-lock feature
  • Cargo space lights
  • System monitor
  • Outside temperature gauge
  • Air filtration
  • Two seat back storage pocket

How Intuitive is the 2022 Aston Martin DBX Infotainment System?

The standard 10.2-inch infotainment touchscreen holds a dated Mercedes User face. Touch responses are disappointing, and neither does it hold decent brightness. Though it passes Apple CarPlay, built-in navigation, and 14 speakers audio system by default. A wireless charging pad is now offered. The screen can be operated through controls mounted on the steering column. A huge number of physical buttons on the center console creates confusion. Cruise control, Air conditioning, and other functions work with decency. Four USB charging ports.

Highlights of the infotainment system of DBX–

  • Radio data system
  • Navigation services
  • Apple CarPlay integration
  • 10.2-inch infotainment touchscreen
  • Digital instrument panel
  • 14-speaker audio system
  • Voice activated controls
  • Speed sensitive volume control
  • Cruise control with steering wheel control
  • Satellite Radio
  • Mercedes Benz User interface

Exterior

Exterior appeal of the DBX SUV is polished enough that anyone would drool over it. The front hood contains a twin-turbocharged V8 engine. Lifted lines on the bonnet lid deliver a strong personality. Front grille shows typical Aston Martin horizontal chrome strips. That logo is attached over it. The front spoiler along with air intakes proposes parking sensors. The side profile has fantastic expression when it is induced with standard 22-inch alloy wheels–that rise with high-performance tires of dimensions P320/35YR22. LED Headlights with daytime running lights. Window trims along with door panels are cornered with black accents as well as a chrome finish. The outside rearview mirror also supposes the same element. Below, more air intakes for cooling of brakes. Rear portion is a noticeable factor. Upliftment suited with LED brake lights and a rearview camera. Center mounted logo with separately written Aston Martin exterior before the SUV can be dipped in a huge list of 64 colors. Seems the vehicle carries a decent amount of ground clearance to triumph on hilly terrains.

Aston Martin has a longer wheelbase than Urus, and the Bentayga, while Rolls Royce flexes the longest. Lamborghini is the lightest vehicle but carries the lowest ground clearance–which helps curtail the center of gravity. DBX is the vehicle with the smallest body type, while Cullinan is the lengthiest SUV. Bentayga covers the highest ground clearance but has the shortest wheelbase. The most expensive SUV covers the widest body to ensure a huge amount of space inside.

Key features of exterior looks of DBX–

  • Tire mobility kit
  • Clearcoat paint
  • Body-colored front and rear bumper
  • Rocker panel extension
  • Chrome side window trims
  • Body-colored door handles
  • Light tinted glass
  • Fixed rear window with defroster
  • Rain-sensing variable intermittent wipers
  • Power heated auto-dimming side mirrors
  • Wing spoiler
  • Roof rack rails
  • Rear door with power door locks
  • Auto on-off projector-beam LED headlights with auto leveling daytime running lights
  • Rear fog lamps
  • Approach light
  • Automatic high beams
  • Laminated glass

Safety

Standard pre-collision safety system use camera tech to detect a potential collision with a vehicle or pedestrian ahead. A blind spot warning alerts the driver by detecting blind spots while changing lanes. Adaptive cruise control retains a necessary distance between the vehicle moving ahead and the DBX, and even in an emergency, it applies the brake to bring the vehicle to a full stop. Electronic stability controls help prevent loss of control in curves and emergency maneuvers by stabilizing the vehicle when it begins to veer off the intended path. Hands-Free liftgate, and automated parking system, are still offered at extra costs.

Characteristics of the safety features

  • Dual side front mounted airbags
  • Pre-collision safety system
  • Front and rear head airbags
  • Stability control
  • Traction control
  • Child seat anchor
  • Rear door child safety locks
  • 4-wheel ABS
  • Front and rear ventilated disc brakes
  • Emergency braking assist

  • Turn signal mirrors
  • 2 front headrests
  • 3 rear headrests
  • Rear center 3-point belt

Competition

2022 Aston Martin DBX vs. 2022 Lamborghini Urus

Lamborghini costs extra, but every single penny is worth it. Extra around a hundred horsepower does not make a huge difference in performance, but when driving it, anyone can feel the ability. Aston Martin offers more mpg figures as well as high ground clearance. The top speed of Urus is more. Urus is longer and lighter, while Aston Martin is based on an extended wheelbase. The cockpit of the Urus feels like a spaceship, while the cabin of DBX shows more subtleness and class.

2022 Aston Martin DBX vs. 2022 Bentley Bentayega

Bentayga charges less and is equally powered. With added features, Bentley weighs higher, and luxury can be felt when driving. Aston Martin weighs lighter and has a longer wheelbase, while Bentayga has class-leading ground clearance. The same fuel-carrying tank is fitted on both, still, Bentley archives more mileage numbers. Aston Martin can carry more cargo space behind its second row. The infotainment system on Bentley is more premium looking and it feels intuitive.

2022 Aston Martin DBX vs. 2022 Rolls Royce Cullinan

Rolls Royce is something that supposes luxury over speed. It's a shopper’s choice if they can pay an extra $150k to bring– the longest wheelbase, a V12 engine, high-end luxury, a huge length, large cargo space behind the first row, a wider body, and a pin drop silent driving experience. On the other hand, Aston Martin is faster and offers more space behind its second row. It brings a V8 engine which generates power almost similar to that of a V12.

Final Verdict

2022 DBX is a lucrative offering among its competitors. A high-quality Alcantara interior, well-powered engine, nice and comfortable seats, and a huge cargo space turn it into a sound vehicle. Suited with tons of standard safety features, the car lacks when it is a matter of infotainment system. The touchscreen is not attentive, but the controls are tactile to use. If shoppers can push their budget and are cranky for a vehicle with elevated strength, the Urus is a choice. Bentayga maintains more luxury. While maintaining a good mpg, it is fast too. When showing off your wealth and the class of a millionaire person, Rolls Royce satiates everything.
