Overview

The 2011 Volvo S80 Sedan is a midsize sedan offered in 2 trims, starting off at a base MSRP of $37,150. For that price, it mainly competes with the Audi A6 Sedan, the BMW 5 Series Sedan, and the Lincoln MKZ Sedan. Between 2 trims, the S80 offers 2 powertrains. The base engine is a 3.2L inline-6 capable of making 240 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. If more power is required, there is also a 300-horsepower-making 3.0L turbocharged inline-6 engine. Both engines are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The S80 reaches 60 mph from zero in 7.4 seconds on its base engine, which gets pumped up to 6.3 seconds with the 3.0L turbocharged inline-5 engine. Depending on the powertrain, the S80 can manage a combined fuel economy between 21 and 22 mpg. While we're on the topic of choices, the 7 striking colors the S80 comes in really pull you towards itself.

The "WheelsTV Test Drives" reviews the specs of your dream cars through test drives. As for the 2011 Volvo S80 "WheelsTV Test Drives" experiences that "Sharp styling, available all wheel drive and standard premium appointments make the S80 attractive to many buyers, but it's its safety credentials that will give many motorists piece of mind.". Check out more in this video.

Key Observations:

  • Strong build quality
  • Superior styling
  • Comfortable interior
  • Impressive standard features

Buying Advice

We recommend getting the upper T6 trim which has an all-wheel-drive system and a turbo engine. It also has bigger wheels than the 3.2 trim. In terms of features, it doesn’t add anything significant other than a sunroof. For extra safety and comfort features, you can go for various packages such as the Technology Package and the Climate Package.
