Overview

The 2011 Volvo S60 Sedan makes for an excellent contender in the compact sedan. With a standalone trim on offer, the Volvo S60 has a base MSRP of $37,700. Competing directly with the BMW 3 Series, the Audi A4, and the Mercedes Benz C-Class. Only a 3.0L Twin-Turbo Inline-6 engine is offered, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Together, they produce 300 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. Accelerating from 0-60 in 6.5 seconds, the Volvo S60 maintains a combined fuel economy of 21 MPG. Volvo offers the S60 in 7 stunning colors, with the Ember Black Metallic being a particular favorite of ours.

Buying Advice

The standalone trim comes with a respectable performance, with standard features like satellite radio, keyless start, cruise control, and much more. Not to mention the array of safety features and color options provided. However, if that is not enough the Technology package ($2,100) which has driver alert control, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control w/queue assist, and so forth can make your ride even safer.
