Overview
Toyota tasted success with the Supra which has garnered a massive cult following across the globe. However, the brand wanted to develop something slightly cheaper, and smaller, yet offering the same fun-to-drive characteristics. By joining hands with Subaru the Toyota 86, later renamed the GR86, saw the light of the day back in 2012. The GR86 also goes around in the market as the Subaru BRZ with slight cosmetic changes but similar mechanicals. Following the redesign in 2021, the coupe was renamed GR86 since it received special tuning from Toyota’s Gazoo Racing wing which is responsible for making high-performance vehicles as well.
