Overview

The 2014 Scion xB makes for an excellent contender in the subcompact wagon class. With 2 trims on offer, the Scion xB has a base MSRP of $16,970, with prices going all the way up to MSRP $20,420 for the automatic transmission version, competing directly with the Kia Soul, the Fiat 500L, and the Subaru XV Crosstrek. Only a 2.4L inline-4 engine is offered, mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission. Together, they produce 158 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. Accelerating from 0-60 in 8.5 seconds, the xB maintains a combined fuel economy of 24 MPG. Scion offers the xB in 7 stunning colors, with the Electric Quartz being our particular favorite.

Buying Advice

The Scion xB Release Series 10.0 being a limited edition offers some exclusivity along with some desirable features like wireless charging and a rearview camera. However, if you feel adding close to $2,500 is not worth these additions, the base trim proves to be a great value for money.
