Overview
The 2011 Nissan Juke Hatchback makes for an excellent contender in the subcompact hatchback class. With 3 trims on offer, the Nissan Juke has a base MSRP of $19,170, with prices going all the way up to MSRP $26,170, competing directly with the Honda Fit, the Mazda 2, and the Ford Fiesta Hatchback. Only a 1.6L turbocharged inline-4 engine is offered, mated to a continuously variable transmission. Except for the base trim, all other trims get an optional 6-speed manual transmission. Together, they produce 188 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. Accelerating from 0-60 in 7.8 seconds, the Juke maintains a combined fuel economy of 29 MPG. Nissan offers the Juke in 8 stunning colors, with the Cayenne Red being a particular favorite of ours.
Buying Advice
If all you need is an everyday practical hatchback with decent comfort, the S trim fits in perfectly well. However, stepping up the SV trim ups the ante in comfort levels by adding a sunroof, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, rear privacy glass, keyless ignition/entry, upgraded upholstery, and so on. If luxury is what you crave, the top-level SL trim is the one to go for, as it includes automatic headlights, leather upholstery, fog lights, heated front seats, an upgraded audio system, and a few other features.
