In its latest iteration, the Nissan Altima managed to stand out from the crowd with its alluring design and unique powertrain. Additions like the sporty SR model and available all-wheel drive powertrain also make it a competent all-rounder compared to rivals like the Honda Accord and Hyundai Sonata. The interiors also offer all the latest technologies and plenty of space for a family. Nissan has also equipped the Altima with plenty of driver assistance features, making it a safer offering.

On the reliability front, Nissan has generally scored above average, but the 2021 Altima has already been recalled once. The number of registered complaints also stands at 8 so far. Let's take a look at the reliability of the latest Nissan Altima and how it compares to popular competitors.

Should you buy the 2021 Nissan Altima?

Affordability and comfort have always been the strong points of the Nissan Altima and it continues to excel in those areas. The sporty SR model also manages to attract enthusiasts for its performance and the unique turbocharged powertrain. The Altima ticks all the boxes for the perfect family sedan, offering a practical interior and all the modern features. Opting for the standard models will also return good efficiency figures, helping owners cut down on running costs. Despite one recall, the Altima also remains mostly trouble-free, with no major issues to speak of. Still, a thorough inspection is recommended if you’re planning on picking up a used one.
