Overview

The 2018 Mercedes-Benz Maybach Sedan makes for an excellent contender in the fullsize sedan segment. With two trims on offer, the 2018 Mercedes-Benz Maybach Sedan retails at a base MSRP of $168,600 competing directly with the BMW Alpina B7, the Bentley Flying Spur, and the Rolls Royce Ghost. With the two trim levels, the Mercedes-Benz Maybach Sedan offers 2 powertrains. The base engine is a 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 engine capable of making 463 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. If more power is required, there is also a 621 horsepower making 6.0L twin-turbocharged V12 engine. The V8 powertrain is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission whereas the bigger V12 gets the 7-speed automatic transmission as standard. The Mercedes-Benz Maybach Sedan reaches 60 mph from zero in 5.6 seconds on its base engine, which gets pumped up to 4.6 seconds with the available 6.0L V12 engine. Depending on the powertrain, the Mercedes-Benz Maybach Sedan can manage a combined fuel economy between 16 and 19 mpg. While we're on the topic of choices, the 14 striking colors the Mercedes-Benz Maybach Sedan comes in really pull you towards itself.

Buying Advice

In light of the fact that the Maybach S 560 and S 650 are essentially the same, your choice will be based primarily on performance and power. We recommend the base S 560 trim with which you’ll get a powerful engine and all-wheel drive in the S 560 that’ll suffice all your performance needs.
