Overview
Cars like the 2013 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Hybrid Sedan might not be able to give you the direct benefits one might expect from its hybrid powertrain. However, its use must not be overlooked. The E-Class Hybrid uses its 3.5L V6 engine which puts out 302 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. There is a single electric motor and a lithium-ion battery hybrid system that can produce 27 horsepower. This gives the E-Class Hybrid a 0-60 of 6.4 seconds. The hybrid engine here is to support the gasoline engine to boost performance and offer slightly better fuel economy than what a single gasoline engine would be capable of. That said, the 2013 E-Class Hybrid achieves a combined fuel economy of 26 MPG. As part of the midsize sedan, the E-Class Hybrid competes with the BMW ActiveHybrid 5 Sedan, the Lexus GS 450h Sedan, and the Infiniti M M35h Sedan. It offers only one trim with a base MSRP of $55,800.
