Cars like the 2013 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid might not be able to give you the direct benefits one might expect from its hybrid powertrain. However, its use must not be overlooked. The MKZ Hybrid uses its 2.0L Inline-4 engine along with a single electric motor and a 1.4-kWh battery paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) to produce 188 horsepower. This gives the MKZ Hybrid a 0-60 of 10.5 seconds. The hybrid engine here is to support the gasoline engine to boost performance and offer slightly better fuel economy than what a single gasoline engine would be capable of. That said, the MKZ Hybrid achieves a combined fuel economy of 38 MPG. As part of the midsize sedan, the MKZ Hybrid competes with the Kia Optima Hybrid, the Ford Fusion Hybrid, and the Toyota Camry Hybrid. It is offered in a single trim, starting off at an MSRP of $35,925.
