... Sunroof noisy to use. I could go on and on . not worth the money! There is a knocking that the dealership says is "normal". a leak in the a/c that leaks onto the feet of the passenger that they say they do not a warranty. Buy a Cadillac, they are much more reliable for the same price. This vehicle is the absolute worst one I have ever had.Read More

50,320 miles and I have to replace my engine due to the faulty EcoBoost engine. Because powertrain warranty is 6 years, car is no longer under warranty and I am out of pocket over $7,500. Looking into this issue, countless people are having the exact same issue. There's even a current class action lawsuitRead More

... currently have 87000 miles on it. Last April the left blinker went out. Had it replaced, cost me $1500 at the dealership. Since that day the rear camera stopped working but the dealership told me it had nothing to do with them replacing the back LED panel and wanted to charge me another $1000 for it, which I declined and now I have no camera. A year later, AC compressor went and the transmission! I bought a Lincoln for safety and durability and very disappointed!Read More

As a luxury subdivision of Ford, Lincoln and its vehicle resonate with opulence, practicality, and a utilitarian aura. The Lincoln MKC finds itself vaunting a similar set of strengths, but it also holds reliability in the highest regard. In the current iteration, the SUV has 23 complaints listed to its name, with no grievance having a widespread impact. There are no open investigations and the vehicle is yet to be called back by the brand, as of the day we write this article. It competes with the likes of the BMW X3, the Volvo XC60, and the Acura RDX. What are the problems with the 2017 Lincoln MKC and what is their impact on the ownership experience? Let’s find out.

2017 Lincoln MKC User Complaints and Problems

Mechanical Complaints

  • Unintended acceleration: In a couple of cases, buyers of the 2017 MKC have reported the vehicle accelerating without the driver’s input. Despite the pedal being released, the SUV has been reported to accelerate, which has resulted in injuries to the buyer in one case.
  • Swollen lug nuts: In two officially registered cases, buyers of the 2017 Lincoln MKC have reported the swelling of the lug nuts. As a result, the tires cannot be removed from the vehicle, if required. This is a major safety concern and has been experienced by the owners of particular Ford vehicles, including the 2017 F-150 Regular Cab.
  • Coolant leak: The Lincoln MKC engine problems are related to the coolant leaking into the cylinder, which requires to be flushed out. If the damage is extreme, an engine replacement might be the only possible solution. While only one complaint has been listed on NHTSA, Lincoln has issued a notice on its service bulletin for the same, which could mean that the problem could recur in other units of the vehicle.

Electric System Complaints

  • Issues with the airconditioning unit: The 2017 Lincoln MKZ electrical problems include the malfunctioning of the aircon system. In a couple of cases, buyers have reported the air conditioning system blowing hot air from the passenger side vents and cold air from the driver’s vent. The issue, however, lasts momentarily.
  • Visibility concerns:Buyers of the 2017 Lincoln MKC have also reported several issues that have hampered the outward visibility of the driver. These include the inability of the side-view mirrors to reopen after they have automatically closed due to proximity to surrounding objects. Other problems include the failure of the front windshield wipers and a strong glare that is created by the reflective strips under the dashboard. Each problem has been listed as a one-off case on NHTSA.

Safety Complaints

  • Non-deployment of airbags: In one case, a buyer has also reported the improper functioning of the airbag system. As per the complainant, the airbags of the vehicle failed to deploy in the event of a crash, which has led to injuries to the occupants.

Interior Complaints

  • Seating lacks comfort: Buyers of the 2017 MKC have reported the seats to lack comfort and feel overbearing on long journeys. While the front seats seem decent, the rear seat lacks adequate space and has constricted legroom. As a result, buyers cannot be assured of a leisurely experience, despite the vehicle’s opulent status.

2017 Lincoln MKC Recalls

There are no recalls for the 2017 LincolnMKC yet.

Should you buy the 2017 Lincoln MKC?

The 2017 Lincoln MKC issues are neither widespread nor concerning. Its reliability is top-notch and being a trustworthy proposition, the vehicle provides ample value for the money that the buyer spends. So, we find no reason to veto the luxury compact SUV. However, if you cannot look through the constricted rear-seat space that the MKC offers, the 2017 Acura RDXcan be a fitting alternative, with the least number of complaints and recalls.
