The 2015 Land Rover Range Rover is available in five trim levels: Base, HSE, Supercharged, Autobiography, and Autobiography Black. Pricing for the trims starts at $83,495 for the base trim and goes up to $186,495 for the top trim. Standard features on all trims include 19-inch alloy wheels, adjustable air suspension, automatic Xenon headlamps, automatic wipers, rearview camera, heated power-folding mirrors, tri-zone climate control, heated front seats, leather upholstery, auto-dimming rearview mirror, cruise control, power-adjustable heated steering wheel, and an 8-inch touchscreen. 

The 2015 Land Rover Range Rover comes with a ton of optional packages, which are trim-specific. These packages are the Vision Assist Package, the Driver Assistance Package, the Tow Package, the Rear-seat entertainment package, the Four Zone Climate Comfort Package, and the Rear Executive Class Seating package.

We surely recommend the Autobiography trim. It is surely very expensive, but it ticks all the right boxes. For one, the Range Rover is not exactly a performance machine; it can go fast and do other things, but its main perspective is luxury. And in that sense, this trim works best. 

The 2015 Land Rover Range Rover comes with two engine options. A supercharged 3.0L V6 that puts out 340 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque; and a supercharged 5.0L V8 with an output of 510 hp and 461 lb-ft of torque. Both the engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. 

The car's handling and steering are not among the best in this class. It does not have that much response, and has significant body roll at corners. The car’s ride quality is on the firmer side, and gets worse the larger the tires get. The Range Rover comes with a full-time 4WD. The 2015 Land Rover Range Rover V6 engine has a 0-60 mph time of 6.9 seconds and manages to reach the quarter-mile mark in 14.6 seconds. It has a top speed of 132 mph.

The GL550 takes the lead with its 5.5 seconds to the 0-60 mph mark. The Caddy comes in second, with a 0-60 mph time of 6.4 seconds. The Range Rover finishes last. In terms of quarter-mile as well, the result is the same. It is worth noting that the Range Rover is a V6, whereas the other two cars are powered by V8 engines and produce more power and torque.

The 2015 Land Rover Range Rover with the automatic returns 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway, with a combined efficiency of 19 mpg. The V8-powered Range Rover returns a combined efficiency of 16 mpg. The car has a tank capacity of 22.5 gallons, which gives it a decent range of 428 miles combined.

The 2015 Land Rover Range Rover has the best numbers among the three. The GL550 is the least efficient with its 15 mpg combined efficiency, which goes down to 13 mpg in the city. The 2015 Escalade offers the most range at 390 city miles and 546 highway miles. The GL550 returns a range of 343 miles in the city and 475 miles on the highway.

The 2015 Land Rover Range Rover’s interior is the epitome of luxury. It’s elegant, with the stitched leather and wooden trim; is spacious, and neatly laid out. The dash is clean, with a minimalistic approach. The fit and finish are excellent and there’s just no room to complain. The controls are very well fit and have a plush feel to them as well.

Luxurious comfort is what the seats are. They are cushioned, covered in leather, and have good bolstering zones at the back area and around the thighs. The seats offer great comfort and support. The front seats have long legroom. The rear space is great, but if you want more, the LWB versions add 7 inches extra leg space in the back. The outside visibility is excellent.

The 2015 Land Rover Range Rover seats 5 people, whereas the other two seat 7 people. At the front, the Escalade offers the most headroom and legroom. In the middle row, the GL550 offers the most headroom whereas the Range Rover has the most legroom. The Range Rover offers a decent standard space of 32.1 cu-ft, whereas the Escalade offers the most maximum cargo space. Some interior features are:

How intuitive is the 2015 Land Rover Range Rover’s infotainment unit?

The 2015 Land Rover Range Rover’s infotainment system is beautiful, easy to use, and handle. The menu is simple, with quick phone connectivity. However, the system lacks finesse. Even so, it is loaded: standard features on the infotainment unit include an 8-screen touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, voice controls, HD radio, satellite radio, iPod/USB connectivity, and a 13-speaker Meridian sound system. The Range Rover’s exterior is unique and elegant. It takes a route towards modernity with a futuristic approach. One can still make out the Land Rover outline on the shape of this car. The front end is curvy and smooth, with slim LED headlamps that encompass the mesh grille. The faired-in fog lamps with the mellow windshield give this car a very civilized look.

Along the side, the rectangular body style of the Range Rover is finished with the gloss black slim roof pillars. This is complemented with the curved deep wheel arches that can house wheels of sizes ranging from 18-22 inches. At the rear end, the lower part of the rear bumper slides upwards to create a bit of nostalgia. The tail houses vertical taillights and a generally clean look.

When compared to the rivals, the Range Rover is the shortest. The Range Rover, however, is the lightest at 4918 lbs. It has a tight wheelbase of 115 inches. The Escalade has the most length of 204 inches and the most height of 74.4 inches. The GL 550 is the widest, at 84.3 inches, and also has the longest wheelbase at 121 inches. The 2015 Range Rover has not been crash-rated rated by the NHTSA or the IIHS. Based on the LR MS platform, it uses an all-aluminum chassis with high strength and rigidity. If luxury and status are what you’re looking for in the form of an SUV, the 2015 Land Rover Range Rover is the best choice. Power on demand, impeccable luxury seen on some luxurious sedans, and a very strong safety net are some of the plus points of the Range Rover. It has slightly outdated tech, and some might find the optional packages a tad bit too stretched out. It is super expensive as well, but worth every penny paid.
