Took to dealer and they had the car for over 2 weeks at one point - they even had to do a video conference with UK engineers who rebuilt the entire computer. Had non-stop significant vibration in rear tires and the alignment seemed to shred the tires. Inquired with the dealerRead More

... problem with land rover started from the beginning. This is my first land rover discovery and I loved the look and ride. However, poor knowledge of salesman, poor service department support and poor management of the local dealership as well as corporate office is the worst I have experienced in luxury brands. As much as the car cost, you expect the best customer service from luxury brands which I have experienced with other luxuryRead More

Fuel gauge reads lower than the actual level

Fuel gauge may indicate that the fuel level is low and illuminate the warning lamp, when the fuel tank actually has more fuel. The engine management software may also cut off the engine when the vehicle has traveled approximately 17 more miles. This would result in loss of power and thus increase the risk of a crash.

Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will install a software update to correct the fuel level reading, free of charge. The recall began on June 22, 2018. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N206.

Trailer lights may not function

When towing a trailer with the trailer lights connected to the trailer socket and the vehicle's Daytime Running Lights (DRL) are on, the trailer lights may not function. Thus, the traffic won't be aware of any slowdowns or stopping, potentially causing a crash.

Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will update the Body Control Module software, free of charge. The recall began on April 13, 2020. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N428.

Should you buy the 2017 Land Rover Discovery?

2017 Land Rover Discovery continues to be an excellent option as an all-rounder SUV. With seating for up to 7 passengers, the whole family can enjoy on and off-road adventures. However, it does have its fair share of issues and recalls, the most common among which is the electrical shutdowns and windshield leaks.
