Overview
The midsize crossover segment has been seeing the launches of new model years in the past few weeks and Kia has been putting out there products too. The 2024 Kia Sportage was released sometime ago and it gets only a handful of updates this year. Following a complete overhaul last year, the Sportage now features LED headlights as standard and also gets airbags for the second row. Another change is the omission of the AWD drivetrain for the Sportage SX trim. For these changes, the 2024 Sportage gets a $800 price hike and it now starts at $27,090.
The prices for the top-end 2024 Sportage X-Pro Prestige go all the way up to $37,890 before the $1,325 destination fees and other taxes. The Sportage Hybrid and Sportage Plug-in Hybrid models are yet to be announced for the 2024 model year, but the gas-only models are available for sale across all dealerships and the company website. Released already, expect the deliveries for the Sportage 2024 to begin by the end of the year 2023. The standard 2.5L four-cylinder engine of the Sportage is carried forward which produces 187 hp and 178 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a standard 8-speed automatic transmission that drives the front wheels or can be had with an AWD for an added cost of $1,800. The 0-60 MPH sprint time of 8.6 seconds remains the same and the Sportage also has a top speed of 117 MPH. The MPG ratings of the 2024 Sportage of 25 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highways also get no changes this year.
