Part of the fullsize pickup truck segment, the 2018 GMC Sierra 3500HD Regular Cab competes with the RAM 3500 Regular Cab, the Chevy Silverado 3500 HD Regular Cab, and the Ford F-350 SuperDuty Regular Cab. A base price of MSRP $35,900 gets you a 6.0L V8 engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Despite the price going up to $44,500, this single powertrain is found in all 2 trims. This engine produces 360 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque, achieving a 0-60 of 7.7 seconds, and is offered as both RWD and 4WD. The GMC Sierra 3500HD Regular Cab offers a single 8 feet cab with a payload capacity of 13,000 pounds. It also offers a healthy towing capacity of 14,500 pounds.

Buying Advice

The base trim is quite basic for the money and can be used only as a workhorse, while the top-level SLE offers some significant and necessary features such as 18-inch alloy wheels, 8-inch touchscreen, and leather-wrapped steering wheel, 60/40-split folding rear seat, remote-locking EZ-Lift tailgate and so forth.
