The Velar is the least powerful with just 247 hp, but also costs less than the BMW X5 and Mercedes GLE, offering 375 and 255 horsepower respectively. The Genesis, on the other hand, cost the least of the bunch and offers the highest price-to-horsepower ratio. The GV80 is also the fastest of the bunch with a 149 mph speed limiter.
2024 Genesis GV 80 Ride and Handling
The Genesis offers a pliant and insulated riding experience, even the base gas-charged suspension setup is pretty excellent when it comes to on-road manners. The GV80's ride is cozy and secure, the NVH is class-leading, to say the least. Riding comfort is further enhanced by the optional electronically controlled suspension that comes with a prestige package and reads the road ahead to make the necessary changes to the suspension well in advance, much like mercedes benz's magic vision control. The steering has enough feedback, and the GV80 feels planted in corners at most speeds. The AWD along with LSD ensures unparalleled grip in all situations.
2024 Genesis GV 80 Braking Performance
The braking has always been a strong suit of the Genesis GV80 despite, a significant 4815 curb weight. There is highly advanced ABS on all 4 wheels. The discs are ventilated to ensure optimal temperatures and performance. Hill Descent Control and Hill hold control are also present as an additional safety net when going down a steep decline. The front rotors measure 14.2 inches as do the rear rotors. The optional package can also add monobloc calipers which aid in efficient braking.

The 2024 Mercedes GLE has the largest front brake size of the lot, at 14.8 inches, conversely the Range Rover has the most miniature discs at 13.8 and 12.8 inches but also tips the scales at just 4130 pounds. The BMW X5 has got M Compound brakes as standard, but the size is not available needless to say, BMW X5 just might stop on a dime given its sporting pedigree. Genesis GV80 again wins due to its near-perfect braking prowess and fade-resistant brakes.
