Overview
The 2013 Fiat 500 hatchback makes for an excellent contender in the subcompact hatchback. With 3 trims on offer, the Fiat 500 has a base MSRP of $16,195, with prices going all the way up to MSRP $18,500, competing directly with the Volkswagen Beetle, the MINI Cooper, and the Chevrolet Sonic hatchback. Only a 1.4L Inline-4 engine is offered, however, one can choose between a 5-speed Manual transmission and a 6-speed Automatic transmission. Together, they produce 101 horsepower and 98 lb-ft of torque. Accelerating from 0-60 in 10.5 seconds, the Fiat 500 maintains a combined fuel economy of 34 MPG. Fiat offers the 500 in 14 stunning colors, with the Espresso being a particular favorite of ours.
Buying Advice
We'd go with the most expensive lounge trim level when shopping for the Fiat 500 because it is the best-equipped trim level among its trims. There's also the $1,600 luxury leather package that adds improved features such as leather upholstery, heated front seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and rear parking sensors.
