Overview

Competing in the midsize SUV, the 2013 Dodge Journey goes up against other notable names in the class, like the Toyota Highlander, the Nissan Murano, and the Kia Sorento. Spread across 5 trims, the Dodge Journey starts off at a base price of MSRP $19,195 and carries on to $30,795. Not all trims are built equal, however, as there are 2 powertrains on offer. The base engine is a 2.4L Inline-4 mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission capable of making 173 horsepower and 166 lb-ft of torque. If more power is required, there is also a 283 horsepower-making 3.6L V6 mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Dodge Journey reaches 60 MPH from zero in 9.5 seconds on its base engine, which gets pumped up to 7.8 seconds with the V6. Depending on the powertrain, the Dodge Journey can manage a combined fuel economy of between 19 and 21 MPG. While we're on the topic of choices, the 8 striking colors the Dodge Journey comes in really pull you towards itself.

Buying Advice

We would recommend the R/T trim which comes with a V6 engine which is a well-balanced engine option between performance and practical mileage numbers. Standard features include satellite radio, heated front seats, cruise control, and much more. One of the packages offered is the Driver Convenience Package which helps out the driver a lot with a rear park assisting system, rear backup camera, and much more for just $500.

              Posted On: July 23, 2024

Minor changes I would make but overall a great vehicle

Pros - ["The space in the back", "The storage compartments"]

Cons - ["The inability to use Uconnect without an iPhone.", "The gas usage in city."]

The uconnect does not allow me to use an android phone. It has to be iPhone. Mpg in city is a bit high but on the interstate works great. I love the dual climate control as well as auto lights being able to turn off and on or stay on auto. The space in the car is wonderful. As well as storage compartments throughout the vehicle. 4.5/5 stars.
