Overview

In the world of cargo vans, the 2018 Chevrolet Express 2500 Cargo Van is a well-known name. Belonging to the midsize van segment, the 2018 Chevrolet Express 2500 cargo van competes with the GMC Savana 2500 Cargo Van, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 Cargo Van, and the Ford Transit Cargo Van. The base trim starts at around $32,000. With a standalone trim on offer with different body lengths, prices reach around $33,155. Traditionally offered bareboned, cargo vans can be equipped to fill the need of the buyer. The Express 2500 too can be equipped with packages such as the heavy-duty trailering package, Convenience package, and Safety package. The standard engine on offer is a 4.3L V6 mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. This engine maintains a combined 13 MPG while making 276 horsepower and 298 lb-ft of torque. However, if more power is required, one can get a 6.0L V8 for around $1,400. This engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, making 341 horsepower and 373 lb-ft of torque. You can also equip the Express 2500 cargo van with a 2.8L turbocharged inline-4 engine which has an engine output of 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque.

Buying Advice

The 2018 Chevrolet Express 2500 cargo van carries over to 2018 with some notable upgrades and changes. There are multiple body lengths and powertrains to choose from and we would recommend getting the extended wheelbase trim with the more powerful V8 engine. The Convenience package, which adds a tilt-adjustable steering wheel and cruise control would also be a nice addition.
