Overview

Armed with a 2.0L turbocharged Inline-4 engine and a 12-kWh battery pack fused to an 8-Speed Automatic transmission, the 2021 BMW X3 SUV PHEV makes 288 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Standalone, the gas-powered engine makes 180 horsepower while the electric motors manage 170 horsepower. This powertrain helps the 2021 BMW X3 SUV cover 0-60 in 6.1 seconds. You can drive the X3 for 17 miles on the electric system alone, making it good for a small trip in the city. Combined, the X3 achieves an impressive 60 MPGe combined while getting 24 mpg from the traditional engine alone. With a base price of MSRP $49,600, the X3 makes a formidable competitor in the compact SUV segment, competing with the likes of the Audi Q5 PHEV, the Mercedes Benz GLC 350e PHEV, and the Volvo XC60 Recharge .

Buying Advice

With only one trim available for purchase, buyers can choose to deck out their xDrive30e with one of the numerous packages available. Our recommendation is the Convenience package and the Driving Assistance Professional package if you're looking for advanced safety features and better creature comfort.
