Overview

A performance version of the 3 Series, the BMW M340i is one of those cars which shelters a roof to derive comfort and an immersive infotainment system. As the sportier model, over 380 horsepower helps run faster than some of its key adversaries. A roomy interior ready to acclimate a family of four easily also gains a portable cargo-carrying capacity. An eight-speed automatic transmission and a rear-wheel drive (RWD) structure strive to deserve a valuable option. Other alternatives like Genesis G70 and the Kia Stinger seem to be delivering more attractive and salacious styling at lesser pricing.

Buying Advice

Without much upgrades, the sedan is a complete option in itself. However, running for the Driver assistance professional package is a good decision from our perspective. Adaptive cruise control, evasive steering assist, emergency stop assist, active lane assist, and other options included in it show a need to be present while driving this performance model. A power sunroof, an elegant-looking infotainment curved touchscreen setup, a clean center console, ambient lighting, a rear spoiler, and upscaled brakes with popping calipers are some of the notable features that drive the car crazy.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

The 2023 generation of BMW gets a deep overhaul. Prominent changes in the interior make it go towards the future. A 12.3-inch digital instrument panel acquires a curved housing on the dash. Latest BMW iDrive 8 software. Improved natural voice recognition with Intelligent Personal Assistant. An upgraded central touchscreen measuring 14.9 inches is a great leap from the BMW standard 8-inch infotainment display. The Center layout also changed a lot as it possesses almost zero physical buttons directing the driver to operate it from the touchscreen. Temperature can be altered with voice commands. A set of 8 physical buttons can be personalized to perform several operations. Shift lever replaced by toggle shift. The number of notable changes makes sure the BMW M340i stands with confidence against the Genesis G70, the Kia Stinger GT2, and the Audi RS3.

Features
8.0/10

There is only a single trim divided into two. The first is the M340i itself and the second is M340i xDrive which is only differentiated by its All-wheel-drive (AWD) structure. The car boasts a turbocharged I6 engine that makes 382 horsepower. Rain-sensing windshield wipers, ambient interior lighting, a power sunroof, three-zone automatic climate control, and simulated leather upholstery, are some of the features that appear with the BMW M340i.

2023 BMW M340i mpg expresses it as the most efficient performance sedan on sale. Genesis G70 and the Kia Stinger GT2 are vehicles offering mileage on a straight line. Both carry the segment-leading fuel capacity. Despite the shortest tiniest fuel tank, the Audi RS3 offers better mpg thanThe ranthange numbers of the new BMW M340i are at the top in the comparison. When running on the highways, Genesis earns more miles of range than the Audi RS3.

Interior
8.0/10

Inside the M340i, the build trait and material used are of excellent quality. None of the components feels inferior or of subpar quality. The doors open appropriately large to not let the driver or passenger feel problematic while surfing in and out of it. Rear door panels wear a high-quality material with window controls and matt chrome finished door handles. Front panels also run on the same instructions and outfits with a pinch of seat adjustments. The Interior can be ordered into nine different pallets, while we recommend shopping the black upholstery to avoid stains. Highly comfortable front seats are promising and can hold on long distances without any restrictions--heating function as an upgrade. The cabin is highly quiet at high speeds when running over highways. The dashboard consoles a clean washed look. A single curved screen panel looks futuristic. It contains a digital instrument cluster and an infotainment touchscreen together. Chrome finishes on the dash with four AC vents. The typical three-spoke steering column covers various controls surrounded by chrome and a logo at the center. The center console is unlike the subtle finish of the cabin, showing elegance with almost no physical buttons. A nicely stitched center armrest gains more storage space underneath. A few controls are aligned together with a rotary knob for the infotainment operation. A rhombus-shaped chrome lid hides even more space.

Most spacious luxury sedan under $50k is the Genesis G70. The 2023 BMW M340i interior dimensions are average in comparison, but it proposes purely relaxing seats with the new upThe rare. Rear seats of the Audi RS3 are not comfortable to extend legs as can be done in Stinger GT2. The Cargo carrying capacity of the BMW M340i is better than Genesis and Audi, while the Kia again tops the list with the most space for cargo.

How intuitive is the 2023 BMW M340i infotainment system?

A floating curved display looks futuristic and minimal. It combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen. Both works properly. With high resolution, the display looks mesmerizing and lets the driver read controls even in harsh sunlight. It is responsive. It supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wirelessly. BMW’s latest iDrive8 interface is snappy and user-friendly. Unlike some key rivals, BMW stands apart with almost no physical buttons. Fewer buttons on the console and dash are to personalize things. It comes with a 5G WiFi hotspot service. Standard 10-speaker audio system with no replacement.

Exterior
9.0/10

The exterior appeal of the M340i is similar to the previous models, but some little alterations make it an upscaled model. The front elongated hood contains a turbocharged six-cylinder engine. Some sharp-edged lines on the bonnet lid deliver the car a more muscular front. Front grille is minutely redesigned and looks like now it is in proper shape. Finished in black accents, it now does not carry chrome bordering all around. Front LED headlights are now more thoughtful and refined and derive a sense of eyes full of hope. A wider front spoiler now lets more air in with the parking sensor. More air intake for ventilation of the sides. Side profile is clean with black accents around windows and door panels. It can be accustomed in eleven shades, but we prefer its ash grey tone. The Two-tone outside rearview mirrors are power foldable and auto-dimming. Standard 18-inch M double-spoke bi-color wheels appear sporty and evolved around the tires of dimension P225/4The rear8. Rear end does not hold any overwork. It is clean with a rear spoiler to differentiate, a BMW logo, and LED brake lights.

Safety
8.5/10

Neither the sedan has scored any ratings from NHTSA, nor it gains tons of standard safety features. Most of the features cost extra to install. Standard automated emergency braking system detects a potential collision with a vehicle ahead, provides forward collision warning, and automatically applies brakes to avoid the collision or lessen the severity of impact. Optional active cruise control reduces speed or comes to a complete stop as highway conditions change. Extended Traffic Jam Assistant allows for hands-free operation in traffic and on certain highways.

Key feature res of the safety system–

  • Standard automatic emergency braking
  • Available front cross warning
  • Available front cross-warning
  • Pre and post-collision safety system
  • Dual front side-mounted airbags
  • Front and rear head airbags
  • Airbag occupancy sensor
  • Stability control
  • ABS and driveline traction control
  • Child seat anchor
  • Rear door child safety locks
  • Brake drying
  • Front and rear ventilated disc brakes
  • Emergency braking preparation
  • Emergency braking assist
  • Tire pressure monitoring
  • Dusk sensing headlamps
  • Self-leveling headlights
  • Turn signal mirrors
  • 2 front and 3 rear headrests
  • Rear center 3-point belt
  • Remote anti-theft alarm system
  • Engine immobilizer

Competition
8.0/10

2023 BMW M340i vs. 2023 Genesis G70

Genesis is a more affordable-for-money money option if one does not go crazy for BMW. It is also competitively fast, despite lower power output. BMW gains a more appealing interior and especially the center of attraction– the dynamic island of floating curved screen. BMW also serves more cargo carrying capacity and better mileage numbers. The exterior design of the Genesis is more premium looking and eye-catching. One is Korean auto and the other is German.

2023 BMW M340i vs. 2023 Kia Stinger GT2

Despite being tagged with less price tag, the Stinger GT2 does not bring appraising braking performance. Though, it brings extra inch bigger wheels. BMW is rapid and heavier. Kia Stinger is lightweight and covers an extended wheelbase. The interior design of both cars is preferentially remarkable, while the exterior design of Stinger is sleeker. BMW is with more ground clearance, while Kia Stinger GT2 carries a body of additional length. BMW rains more mileage and range numbers.

2023 BMW M340i vs. 2023 Audi RS3

Audi is the most expensive and the fastest in the segment. BMW is based on a longer wheelbase and is suited to more interior space. Audi RS3 supposes an all-wheel drive (AWD) system while BMW M340i distributes rear-wheel drive (RWD). The Turbocharged four-cylinder engine on Audi produces more power than that of a six-cylinder engine of the M340i. Passenger space and cargo capacity are seen more in BMW besides its better fuel management ability than an Audi RS3.

Final Verdict
7.0/10

With the latest updates, the newest BMW M340i leaps ahead of many of its key rivals. Engine with mild hybrid system produces enough power to sprint aggressively. The infotainment system is a highlight. Fuel capacity and efficiency are top notched. Safety features might be a disappointing factor as many offer its optional features without extra payment. Searching for an affordable luxury sedan, Genesis G70 is for them. The Kia Stinger GT is a more stylish sedan that pertains more extra length and cargo capacity. Wanting the fastest sedan, the Audi RS3 never lets you down.
