Overview

Audi is a German car manufacturer known for making performance cars with sleek design, modern features, and an amazing driving experience. Audi has proven to be a reliable and safe car over the years and has gained the trust of many people. All of the Audi models are very popular amongst car enthusiasts. The 2021 Audi S7 Sportback is a car from the manufacturer which is popular among the customers. It is a sports sedan and is back for 2021 with its aggressive style and modern features.

Buying Advice

Although the Prestige trim offers more functions and features than the Premium Plus trim, we cannot recommend this trim as the asking price of this trim is way too expensive. This is one of the main drawbacks of this car. That doesn’t mean that the Premium Plus trim lacks some of the features and functions. It offers many features just for the price of $84,400 and that is more than enough. However, if money is not a problem for you, then you can opt for the Prestige trim without any doubt.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

It provides sufficient space in the interiors with comfort and technology as its priorities. This is one of the best-selling cars from the manufacturer and is intended to do the same in 2021 as well. The 2021 Audi S7 Sportback is all set to outclass its competitors in the market. Some of the main competitors of the 2021 Audi S7 Sportback are the Porsche Panamera, the Mercedes-Benz AMG CLS 53, and the Lexus LS 500 F Sport. Can the 2021 Audi S7 Sportback emerge as the top sports sedan in the market?

Features

The previous generation of the S7 Sportback used to come in two trims, the Premium Plus and the Prestige. There is no additional trim for the 2021 model year and will continue to sell in only two optional trims to choose from. Fuel Economy
7.0/10

It is not wise to expect an outstanding gas mileage from a sports sedan. However, the 2021 Audi S7 Sportback does a decent job in this department as well. It provides roughly around 18/28/22 MPG on city/highway/combined cycles respectively. It has 19.3 gallons of storage in the fuel tank which will be enough to ride 424 miles in a combined cycle between each fillup.

The Audi S7 Sportback has nearly the least fuel mileage of all. The Mercedes-AMG CLS 63 does a better job in terms of fuel efficiency. However, the Porsche Panamera provides the least fuel efficiency as compared to its competitors which is disappointing considering that its engine does not provide a lot of performance either.

Interior
9.5/10

The interior of the 2021 Audi S7 Sportback looks like a typical Audi. It is made with upscale materials. The space in the front is sufficient so taller folk won’t find any issues. The dashboard design is similar to that of the A7 and is covered in soft-touch material. All the AC vents and the control buttons are finished in chrome-accented metal. Some small bits of wooden trim here and there make it more premium. The steering wheel is very light and smooth and the buttons on the steering wheel are nicely arranged and are very straightforward.

The 2021 Audi S7 Sportback seats five people in two rows. The front seats are cushioned and are very comfortable. Cloth seats come as standard on the 2021 Audi S7 Sportback which can be upgraded to leather seats. The armrest is wide and comfortable for both the driver as well as the passenger. The space towards the rear is sufficient. Three adults can easily sit at the back. Overall the entire interior of the 2021 Audi S7 Sportback feels premium and futuristic.

The Audi S7 Sportback has the best cargo space in its class and is way ahead of its competition in this regard. The Mercedes-AMG CLS 63 has the least cargo space as compared to its rivals at just 11.9 cu-ft. Some of the standout interior features are as follows:

  • Fully automatic panoramic sunroof

What’s there to keep you entertained?

Audi is one of the best when it comes to technology and this continues in the 2021 Audi S7 Sportback as well. The 2021 Audi S7 Sportback has a dual unit infotainment display which means it has a 12.3-inch LCD touchscreen infotainment system along with a 10.1-inch infotainment display. The displays are of good quality and there is no screen glare issue even in bright sunlight. The touchscreen is very responsive and is straightforward to use. It has Bluetooth connectivity with which you can connect your smartphone with the infotainment system.

It has plenty of USB ports and Auxiliary ports as well. You can listen to your favorite radio station with the help of SiriusXM satellite radio. It also has a 10GB hard drive along with a memory card slot in which you can store all of your songs. A 4G LTE WiFi hotspot will ensure a stable internet connection in your car. It also includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in its tech suite. Voice recognition will directly take you to your desired menu without the hassle of browsing. There is a 16-speaker Bang and Olufsen premium stereo system which can be upgraded to a 19-speaker Bang and Olufsen premium audio system that will take the party to the roads. Finally, it has a satellite navigation system that is accurate and works perfectly fine. Some of the highlights of the infotainment system are as follows:

Exterior
9.5/10

The 2021 model year for the Audi S7 Sportback has the same sense of style as that of the 2020 model year but with some minor upgrades. The wheels will be changed from 20-inch to 21-inch. The exterior of the S7 is one of its biggest selling points. The front bumper has a sinister look with chrome accents all around. The biggest highlight of the 2021 Audi S7 Sportback is the full LED HD Matrix headlamps and taillamps with a unique animation.

The Audi S7 Sportback is shorter in length as compared to its rivals still it manages to offer a good interior and the best cargo space in its class. It is also one of the heaviest cars out of all which is a bit of a downgrade. The Porsche Panamera being a lighter car feels smooth and nimble to ride. The Lexus LS 500 F Sport is the longest car of all and also has the longest wheelbase. Some of the standout exterior features are as follows:

  • 21-inch alloy wheels
  • HD Matrix-design LED headlights
  • LED taillights
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Adaptive rear spoiler

Safety
8.0/10

In the case of a sports sedan like the 2021 Audi S7 Sportback, NHTSA has not rated it yet. The Audi S7 Sportback was not one of the crash test subjects of IIHS as well because the price of the car is very high and becomes difficult for an independent organization to perform crash tests for the same. However, we believe that with the inclusion of the latest tech and safety features as well as a rigid unibody chassis, it will score wonders in the crash tests.

Some of the safety features of the 2021 Audi S7 Sportback includes anti-lock brakes, stability control, front and rear parking sensors, front knee airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, and automatic headlamps, and wipers. It also includes a top view camera system for better outward vision. Some of the standout safety features are as follows:

  • High-definition surround vision camera
  • Forward collision warning
  • Lane departure warning system
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • ParkAssist with front and rear parking sensors
  • Optional adaptive cruise control
  • Optional traffic jam assist and turn assist

Competition

2021 Audi S7 Sportback vs 2021 Mercedes-AMG CLS 53

The Mercedes-Benz AMG CLS 53 is definitely the top contender for the Audi S7 Sportback. One of the main selling points of the Mercedes is the top-notch interior quality with adequate interior space. It also has a better fuel economy than the S7 Sportback. All this with a $4500 lesser price than the Audi. However, Audi takes the prize in the performance category.

2021 Audi S7 Sportback vs 2021 Porsche Panamera

The Porsche Panamera is the most expensive in this class and probably also the worst as compared to its competitors. It has a very sluggish acceleration and the least cargo space in its class. The only good thing about the Panamera is the world-famous Porsche gearbox which is slick and makes the car fun to ride. Meanwhile, the Audi S7 Sportback wins in every other factor.

2021 Audi S7 Sportback vs 2021 Lexus LS 500 F Sport

The Lexus 500 F Sport looks better and is one of the fan favorites in terms of its exterior design, all thanks to its signature chrome grille. However, the Audi S7 Sportback is also beautiful in terms of its exterior design. Also, the S7 Sportback is techier and is loaded with modern features and hence remains the better pick.

Final Verdict
8.2/10

The 2021 Audi S7 Sportback is loaded with the latest tech and features along with top-notch performance and exceptional handling. The exterior styling of the car is truly a masterpiece. It also has an excellent interior and cargo space that makes it practical at the same time. All these prove why this car is selling like hotcakes. So, if you are planning to buy the 2021 Audi S7 Sportback then you have made the right choice.
