Overview

The 2020 Audi E-Tron comes with no major changes this year for the crossover body style. However, Audi has added an all-new 2020 Audi E-Tron Sportback model. The newly introduced Sportback model features fastback roofline and offers better driving range than the standard model. The 2020 Audi E-Tron price starts at $77,400 and an additional $995 is levied as destination charge across all the trim configurations.

Featuring a 2-trim lineup of Premium Plus and Prestige, the 2020 Audi e-tron MSRP can be an expense of $77,400-$79,100 this season. Having said that, it simply translates to the fact that the range-leader 2020 Audi E-Tron Prestige will cost you $1,700 more than the 2020 e-tron Premium Plus for enhanced specs and assets.

We Recommend

Considering the specs, list of features and an msrp of $77,400, we would suggest buying the 2020 E-Tron Premium Plus trim for its good price to value proposition.

The E-Tron is equipped with dual electric motors for 355 horsepower and quattro awd is standard. With Sport Mode, the output increases to 402 horsepower for some time. With a new software update around the corner, the range is expected to increase but for now the 2020 E-Tron range is 204 miles, while the new Sportback is rated at 218 miles per charge. The Audi E-Tron 2020 interior feels premium with a cargo space of 27.2 cubic feet. The E-Tron 2020 feels more luxurious than the Tesla Model X and offers better legroom and cargo capacity than the Jaguar I-Pace.

2020 Audi E-tron Electric for sale

The 2020 Audi E-Tron Premium Plus can be financed for as low as 3.35% APR by paying $1,350/month and 10% as down payment for a term of 60 months. The same model can also be leased for a term of 36 months and $1,036/month with $7,840 due at signing.

For budget-oriented buyers, the Audi E-Tron used 2020 can be availed of with a base price of $55,000. Going for older model years like the 2019 Audi E-Tron could be a matter of $51,573 and the 2021 Audi E-Tron can cost as much as $57,917 along with a listing of 423 in total.

Buying Advice

The base Premium Plus variant itself is heavily loaded and comes with all the bells and whistles. The higher trim is just $4,300 extra, but it is up to the end user to shell a bit more for more amenities like massaging seats and head-up display.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

The 2020 Audi E-Tron review itself as a smaller Q7 with an all-electric powertrain alongside impressive luxury and comfort. The safety build and specs are also spot on for this electric drive, however, one can't be sure of its reliability as the 2021 Audi e-Tron score merely 73. Further, the available optional updates can even enhance the convenience of this electric platform.

As far as additional investments are concerned, a maintenance cost of $6,088 and repair of $1,772 are certain for the 2020 E-Tron Premium Plus and Prestige. While depreciation can be a minimum price of $49,705 after 5 years of ownership and charging expenses can go up to $3,954.

On paper, the Tesla has the most spacious front row while the rear row feels a bit cramped. That said, E-Tron Interior 2020 is the most well-sorted one of all the crossovers here, and the trunk capacity one-ups all the others in terms of storage as well. As for the Jaguar I-Pace, it offers a decent amount of space in the front seats but the rear is cramped and the cargo space is the least among the three here.

"Credit to Audi for building an EV without feeling the need to figuratively shout it from the rooftop with some extreme piece of design." -motor1.com

The car is also offered with LED headlights and taillights that look great and also offer impressive illumination at night. In addition to this, the 2020 E-Tron also gets a Sportback model which has a really good-looking side profile and optional 21-inch alloy wheels.

The rear fascia too falls in line with the overall futuristic design language. Apart from this, the car gets sporty splitters, a rear spoiler, and several other elements that make it look extremely aggressive. The Tesla Model X is a bit larger than the rest and that explains its impressive interior space. While the Jaguar I-Pace is the smallest vehicle of the lot and its compact nature translates to an easier driving experience in busy traffic and tight spaces. The Audi E-Tron 2020 flaunts a strong road presence and the dimensions too are at par with the segment standards.

Competition

2020 Audi E-Tron vs 2020 Tesla Model X

The Tesla Model X is one of the best-selling cars in the segment and boasts impressive acceleration timings along with a longer range. The cabin is the best-suited for minimalists while the overall quality of the vehicle needs improvement. The E-Tron being an Audi triumph on this aspect with impeccable fit and finish levels and a luxurious appeal. On the inside, both the Model X and the E-Tron offer a spacious cabin but the cargo space is better on the E-Tron. All in all, if you are looking for exclusivity, seat pinning acceleration, and longer range then only go for the Model X. While those who love comfort, fit and finish levels, and safety should consider the E-Tron.

2020 Audi E-Tron vs 2020 Jaguar I-Pace

The Jaguar I-Pace is one of the latest offerings in the brand’s line-up and gets a super attractive exterior design along with a premium and well-built cabin. Yet, the E-Tron feels like a much better proposition because of the refinement and sure-footed handling, along with a much wider appeal. The I-Pace on the other hand in terms of price undercuts the E-Tron by a couple of grands and yet offer better performance and range. What's equally important is the cabin and cargo space where the I-Pace falls behind the E-Tron.

Final Verdict

The 2020 Audi E-Tron is a well-built car and comes with a reliable powertrain in addition to an extremely premium and feature-rich cabin. Having said that, the 2020 E-Tron feels significantly more expensive for what it offers when you picture in the rivals. Moreover, it does tend to offer a long list of safety features and a lot of premium creature comforts as standard which aren't a common sight in most of the rival brand's offerings.
