Overview

The 2013 Audi A5 Coupe makes for an excellent contender in the midsize coupe class. With 3 trims on offer, the Audi A5 has a base MSRP of $37,850, with prices going all the way up to MSRP $48,500, competing directly with the Infiniti G37 Coupe, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe, and the BMW 3 Series Coupe. Only a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 engine is offered, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. There is also an 8-speed automatic transmission offered as an option. Together, they produce 211 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Accelerating from 0-60 in 6.2 seconds, the A5 maintains a combined fuel economy of 26 MPG. Audi offers the A5 in 13 stunning colors, with the Misano Red Pearl being a particular favorite of ours.

Buying Advice

Our recommendation is the base Premium trim. It is fully loaded with all the comfort features and modern gizmos but if you want to increase the comfort levels, the Premium Plus trim comes in handy, including features like auto-dimming and heated mirrors, heated front seats and driver-seat memory functions, and a handful of additional packages to choose from.

Great car for someone in college

Pros - Quattro AWD system, Tight steering

Cons - Oil consumption, Cost to replace wear and tear items

After years of owning a BMW 3 Series, I made the decision to purchase an Audi, primarily driven by the prospect of a more economical car payment and reduced maintenance costs. This decision has proven to be judicious, as my Audi, with 126,000 miles on the odometer, has not presented any major mechanical issues thus far. The engine performance has been commendable, exhibiting remarkable durability...
