Belonging to the electric compact SUV segment, the 2024 Volkswagen ID 4 carries all the qualities of a true electric vehicle. It competes with the Mustang Mach E, Hyundai Kona electric, and the Tesla Model Y. The ID 4 is capable of reaching 60 MPH in 3.5 seconds. Expected to start off at an MSRP of $40,000, going up to $55,000, Volkswagen will offer you 5 trims for the ID 4. Not all trims are built equal though, as, with 2 powertrain options available, the choice between trims gets a little more exciting. Currently, both trims offer you a single motor setup as standard when the RWD powertrain is selected. This gives you a power output of 201 horsepower, capable of achieving a 0-60 time of 7.6 seconds from a 1-speed direct drivetrain setup. The second powertrain here is a dual-motor setup rated for 295 horsepower. It manages a 0-60 of 5.4 seconds.
