Being a Japanese company, Toyota owns the legacy of building some of the best and most reliable full-size SUVs on the planet, that definitely includes the Sequoia with a starting market price of $50,500, followed by the Chevrolet Tahoe with a base market price of $50,200, and the Ford Expedition, with a starting market price of $40,000.

Despite the fact that Sequoia is heavily competed by the Tahoe and Expedition, the brand has got another potential rival like the GMC Yukon known for its starting market price of $52,100.

Though the economic price tag of Sequoia is one of the main reasons behind the popularity of the SUV, but somehow the car’s popularity is challenged by common problems found in its faulty brakes, suspension issues, and steering leading to a malfunction. The NHTSA website has even issued 2 recalls and 1 complaint for the faulty power steering problem reported against the vehicle. Such negligence may lead to loss of steering control by increasing the chances of car crash.

Mechanical and Engine Problems

  • Issue with the car suspension system

Users complained about hearing creaking, grinding, and knocking noise while the car’s gear transmission is changed. Such problems are noted when the gear transmission components deny working normally under extreme stress. Even after repeated complaints, the Toyota manufacturers failed to fix these sound issues in the suspension system.

  • Issue with the traction control

Users complained about Toyota’s traction control after seeing that the wheel spin of the vehicle was not working properly followed by the wheel spin leading to downshifting. Such issues often stop sensors to regulate and control the wheel sensors while the vehicle is in motion, triggering the chances of a car crash. Hence, such issues must be addressed and rectified soon.

Should You Buy a 2021 Toyota Sequoia?

Toyota Sequoia is beyond doubt one of the most reliable vehicles for its spacious passenger capacity and seating comfort. In fact, the 2021 Toyota Sequoia is one of those midsize SUVs known for offering an economic price tag than its competitors.

However, the Sequoia’s engine, transmission, and traction control are some of the serious concerns raised about the reliability of the vehicle’s market popularity. However, Toyota took all of these concerns seriously and replaced all those issues for which the car met a recall and repaired those faulty parts free of cost.

If someone is willing to buy a used Sequoia, the individual can always prefer a model that is free from every issue that the Sequoia owners raised earlier, only if the resale price tag seems to be a suitable deal.
