Overview

Cars like the 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid might not be able to give you the direct benefits one might expect from its hybrid powertrain. However, its use must not be overlooked. The RAV4 Hybrid uses its 2.5L Inline-4 and 3 motor hybrid system along with a 1.6 kWh battery to produce 194 horsepower. This gives the RAV4 Hybrid a 0-60 of 8.3 seconds. The hybrid engine here is to support the gasoline engine to boost performance and offer slightly better fuel economy than what a single gasoline engine would be capable of. That said, the 2016 RAV4 Hybrid achieves a combined fuel economy of 33 MPG. As part of the compact SUV, the RAV4 Hybrid competes with the Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid and the Lexus NX 300h Hybrid. Meanwhile, the Ford C-Max Hybrid Wagon is also a potential rival. It offers 2 trims, starting off at an MSRP of $28,370.

Buying Advice

The base XLE trim with the Convenience Package worth an additional $2,060 is a better choice than the upper Limited trim which costs $33,610. This trim along with the optional package gets driver assistance features such as a blind-spot monitor, rear and front parking sensors, rear-cross traffic alert, etc.

              2017 RAV4 Review

Pros - ["Good gas milage", "Lots of safety features", "High profile"]

Cons - ["Small cargo area", "water pump problems", "Door handles peeling"]

Due to owning another Toyota SUV that was un an accident and being able to walk away with no injuries influenced me to buy another Toyota. The 2017 RAV 4 has anti-crash sensors all around, as well as other safety features like lane departure signals, airbags and even a warning when your driving indicates you may need a break. I recommend Toyota products to anyone looking for a car.

              Never let you down!

Pros - ["Reliability", "Spacious cargo area"]

Cons - ["Front wheel drive", "Manual hatch"]

For a small suv this car has zip! I love the ample space to go shopping as well. I feel safe and don't really worry about being top heavy as I have in other suvs. I get no less than 35 mpg. I love the lane assist and the adaptive cruise control, it keeps me from getting speeding tickets. I've never had to jump start it even after leaving interior lights on. It's easy to clean the inside. Love the...
