The 2018 Pagani Huayra uses a specially built Mercedes-Benz AMG engine which is a 6.0L twin-turbo V12, which delivers an insane 730 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque. This engine pulls the car like a slingshot from 0-60 mph in under 3.2 seconds with the Pirelli P Zero tires. In the real world environment, this is how much the burning rubber can do, and when talking about prolonged acceleration, the car can easily do a top speed of 230 mph. This is truly brutal on wheel’s life, but yeah it is what it is. Talking about the engine, Mercedes-Benz comes with a completely custom-built unit for Paganis with an internal designation of M158. The car uses two turbos, which was done in order to reduce the turbo lag and further, enhance the performance. Additionally, the active aerodynamic winglets continuously work to keep the car flat and intact with the road making it uniquely capable of running flat with 730 horsepower even on the corners. The Xtrac sourced light under 100kg single clutch gearbox does its job insanely well. Also, there are steering-mounted stainless steel paddle shifters.

The highly powerful Mercedes AMG 6.0L twin-turbo V12 engine does insane power delivery. The car just catapults at speeds of three digits in a blink of an eye. The transmission choice from dual-clutch to single-clutch was an intentional one as the single-clutch one keeps the overall weight of transmission reduced by 100kgs. The transmission is sourced by the British company XTrac which develops transmission solutions for Le Mans racers and Formula 1 cars. Looking at the competition, Bugatti is the heaviest and with a faster dual-clutch manages to be the fastest down the quarter mile, all thanks to the quad-turbo and W16 engine. Whereas the Koenigsegg Agera RS is the fastest when it comes to the 0-60 mph bracket. Also, Koenegsigg manages to deliver the maximum top speed of all.
2018 Pagani Huayra Ride and Handling
The 2018 Pagani Huayra comes with a newly built chassis that features revamped basics from the previously built Zonda. This enables it to be easily flexible and deal with the downforce at high speeds exceptionally well. A car is a ruthless machine, but not one that can be easily pushed. The car demands respect and hence when dealt with accordingly, can do amazing speeds. The innovative and rewarding cornering abilities hit the driver with an amaze. The active aerodynamic winglet system helps keeps the car flat and stable even at high speeds and extremely maneuverable spots. The Pirelli tires being 19-inch in front and 20-inch in the rear burn insanely but do deal with the matter supportively. The car has numerous sensors that measure throttle and steering inputs along with traction. The rear flaps act according to when there’s a loss of traction or at times of intensive stability demands.
2018 Pagani Huarya Braking Performance
The 2018 Pagani Huayra uses massive carbon ceramic brakes with vented options. The brakes feature the use of a multipiston setup, pushing evenly the pads against the disc, and delivering evenly distributed brake force. The brakes are capable of long-legged push delivering force to clamp down the momentum which seems alarming at first but does the job adequately. There is also an option for buyers to get brake calipers of whatever color they want. The carbon ceramic brakes are lighter in weight and good in heat management when used extensively.

The 2018 Pagani Huayra comes with carbon ceramic ventilated disc brakes. The brakes being carbon ceramics help in overall weight management and better heat management as well. The factor of them being ventilated dissipates heat between both the disc and the brake pads helping to maintain a longer life. Pagani Huayra does not offer the biggest-sized rotors but given the weight, the 15-inch rotors stop the vehicle well in time. The stopping distance is around 91ft being the best among the competitors, closely followed by the Koenigsegg with a braking distance of 100ft. Also, the other braking electronics help the car be stable under sudden braking. This all ensures better safety.
