... miles on it and two months old. We took it back to the dealer and explained to us they had never seen anything like it. They received approval from Nissan to replace the exhaust system and the parking brake cable, but told us the other rust was “normal”. We have gotten no where with Nissan Customer Care (Nissan1). I would not buy a Nissan Murano.Read More

... just looking at my phone for waze, music and phone calls. I wish I new this feature didn't work before buying the car. Dealers will play dumb and blame Android but it clearly is a Nissan issue b/c the technology works in many other cars without a problem. The car isn't cheap, you would expect it would work as it's marketed. Buyer beware!!!!!Read More

The Nissan Murano has been a strong contender in its segment for those who prefer a comfy and practical urban cruiser. The SUV’s reliability aspect has been decent in the recent past and most of the issues faced by the vehicle were addressed by the brand by issuing recalls. The 2018 Nissan Murano has faced absolutely zero complaints and zero recalls to date, an uncommon and incredible feat for a vehicle of its class. In the previous model year, the SUV did face a few issues with its powertrain including the CVT transmission and its forward collision avoidance system. The Nissan Murano rivals the Ford Edge, the Kia Sorento, and the Hyundai Santa Fe.

In some cases, the front radar of the system started malfunctioning such as getting obstructed while driving.

Miscellaneous problems

  • Sunroof exploding: A few owners lodged their complaints on the unofficial forums regarding this issue. The complaints stated that while driving, the sunroof of the vehicles exploded randomly with the glasses falling inside the cabin.

2018 Nissan Murano recalls

The 2018 Nissan Murano has not faced any recalls yet.

Should you buy a used Nissan Murano?

The Nissan Murano rides on plenty of strong characteristics to rank among the most preferable options in its class. It gets comfy seats, commendable fuel economy figures, and adequate power for both urban and highway commutes. Given the popularity of the SUV, finding a used example would be easy and you can go ahead with one without worrying much. However, a trusted dealer and a thorough inspection of the model are recommended to rule out any possibility of ending up with a faulty vehicle.
