Overview

The Maybach 57 was the successor of the Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman and it was the first base designation car produced with its sibling Maybach 62. Even though both of these cars were mostly similar, the 62 came with some more features. The 57 came with two V12 engines that were standard with each of its two trim levels. The performance of the car was at par with the luxury. The tech was on point and the cabin was plush, yet comfortable. On the outside, the car had a subtle exterior look, similar to what Mercedes used to provide back in the day.

Maybach, being a reliable vehicle, comes with an extensive list of safety features to safeguard the driver and passenger in case of an accident. The closest direct competitors of the 2011 Maybach 57 out there were the Rolls-Royce Phantom and the Bentley Mulsanne.

It gets Air springs which get aided by a spring-rate adjustment system with adaptive damping. The car is able to absorb most of the bumps on the road effectively, and you would hardly notice any significant vibration inside the car. The Rolls-Royce Phantom is more expensive as compared to the 2011 Maybach 57. The performance figures of the Maybach 57 are more impressive than the Rolls Royce Phantom. Moreover, In terms of acceleration, the 57 is quicker to reach the 60 MPH mark than the Phantom.

2011 Maybach 57 vs 2011 Bentley Mulsanne

The 2011 Bentley Mulsanne comes with a cheaper price tag as compared to the 2011 Maybach 57. If you prefer performance, more than luxury, then the Mulsanne is something you should go for. It provides better power and torque output than the Maybach 67. It is also quicker to reach the 60 MPH mark than the Maybach 57. The 57 comes with less fuel economy and will certainly cost you more than the 2011 Mulsanne. In our opinion, the exterior styling of the Mulsanne is also more attractive.

Final Verdict

The 2011 Maybach 57 comes with all the luxury features that you might expect in a car from that time. The interior feels a class apart, especially when you sit at the rear. The subtle exterior styling, even though it misses out on muscular personality, still looks attractive. Furthermore, the 57 does not miss out on the performance just for luxury. The potent V12 powertrain of the car offers excellent power and torque delivery, which is one of the best in this segment. What is even rarer is the acceleration which enables it to reach the 60 MPH mark in a little over five seconds. Therefore, if you find a good deal in the second-hand market, then the 2011 Maybach 57 is surely worth your money.
