Overview

The 2012 Lincoln MKS Sedan is a fullsize sedan offered as a standalone trim and carries a base MSRP of $41,500. For that price, it mainly competes with rivals with cheaper starting price tags such as the Chrysler 300 Sedan and the Toyota Avalon Sedan. That said, the MKS offers 2 powertrains. The base engine is a 3.7L V6 capable of making 273 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. However, an output boost of 2 horsepower and 6 lb-ft of torque is achieved when premium fuel is used. If more power is required, there is also a 355 horsepower-making 3.5L Twin-Turbo V6. Both engines are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The MKS reaches 60 mph from zero in 7.3 seconds on its base engine, which gets pumped up to 5.8 seconds with the 3.5L Twin-Turbo V6 engine. Depending on the powertrain, the MKS can manage a combined fuel economy of between 19 and 20 mpg. While we're on the topic of choices, the 9 striking colors the MKS comes in really pull you towards itself.

Buying Advice

19-inch wheels are given when the MKS is getting power from the twin-turbo engine which comes with only all-wheel drive and is $6,890 more expensive than the base price. If you are planning to buy it then don’t forget to get the $4,000 Equipment Group 201A package with it. Otherwise, the $5,000 Equipment Group 102A is the recommended package with the 3.7L V6 engine (front-wheel drive is standard and an all-wheel drive is optional).

Pros - Drives smooth, Heated steering wheel and seats

Cons - Nothing about the car, Nothing about the car

Love it, wouldn't trade it for anything, gave my family a second car for additional transportation while I'm at work for my wife and son. Love the color of the car. Hope to have the car for many years ahead. May even go get another Navigator after this one completely dies
