Overview

Extreme is a word that really applies to Lamborghini.Their cars the styling, the performance and the prices as well spell out ‘Extreme”.The Urus is no exception.A maker reputed for extreme supercars makes an SUV and satisfies the people who actually want to take their Lambo’s everywhere, sounds amazing right? Yes, that is what the Urus is, it is a supercar that can go where the traditional Lambo’s cannot.

Buying Advice

The question of which trim to buy does not come up here since there is just one trim on offer and that itself checks all of the top end model boxes right like Big price, loads of features, performance, engine and loaded with features. However, the question of which colour would you choose? Would be relevant and that even though not a fan the Urus looks terrific in the stock yellow shade it debuted in and that would be my pick.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

The Urus is offered as only one trim and is priced from $218,000 and produces 614hp from the 4.0l V8 engine,it has a specially tailored 4WD drivetrain. The Urus at its price point goes against the likes of Bentley Bentayga V8 and the Aston Martin DBX.

Features

Lamborghini is keeping things simple with Urus, there is only one model on offer and at a price tag of $218,000,but you do have options on color, you get to choose from a number of paints for your car.

Fuel Economy
6.0/10

The Extreme is a word very synonymous with the Urus, the performance, the Handling, the price and so is the fuel efficiency. It is not too efficient in terms of fuel. The car’s massive power has some serious drain on the car’s fuel and drinks fuel like water. The Urus returns 12mpg in the City and 17mpg on the Highway thus, summing up to a combined mileage of 14mpg.It has a tank of 19.8 Gallons which though might look like a lot not too much complimented by the mileage figures.

The Urus is for the first time among this article been beaten by the Bentely and the Aston Martin,The DBX has really good mileage figures in fact it returns the best mileage amongst the three cars with 18mpg in the city and 24mpg on the highway, this is complemented by the 19.7 gallon fuel tank. The Bentley sits in its sweet spot by offering mileage better than the Urus and a bit lesser than the DBX.

Interior
7.4/10

The Lamborghini’s inside is always a beautiful place to be in,minimal and not too overdone and it seems just perfect. The Urus however comfortable it may be from traditional Lambo’s is very different from the rest.It has made good use of the fine Italian leather and wood finish the interior is upscale and has a number of convenience features.

The beautiful insides of the Urus do give the rivals a run for their money. The modern and sporty design language of the Urus redefines the definition of luxury, tradition, and technology. The seats are sports oriented and upholstered with alcantara leather.

The space inside the Urus is substantial and the front and rear seating are really comfortable but the rear have a function of being foldable to increase the 21.75 cu.ft cargo space. There is also lots of spaces to store things inside the cabin. The Bentayga is mostly supposed to be closer in terms of the dimensions but manages to offer the least amount of cargo space but we hope that is compensated with extra legroom in the last row.

The Urus has a long list of features inside and they are:

  • 3 TFT screens
  • Q-Citura leather sports seats with Alcantara Inserts
  • Heated Steering Wheel with controls
  • Surround View 360 degree Camera
  • Head-up Display
  • Heated and ventilated seats
  • Acoustic and heat-insulated glasses
  • Secondary controls in the rear center console
  • Four-zone climate control with interior air filtration
  • Electrochromatic Inside Rearview Mirror
  • Front And Rear Cupholders
  • Multifunction and Electric Power Steering wheel with Tilt and Telescopic adjustment
  • Cruise Control
  • Keyless ignition
  • Hands-Free Entry

What’s there to keep you entertained?

While we are engrossed in setting the road fire and blitzing and overtaking the vehicles in sight on the road, for a driver there can be nothing more entertaining than cutting through the air in a situation described here. But,there can be someone accompanying you and that person might not have their adrenaline pumping or find this drive that entertaining mostly because they do not feel it or are too drowned in comfort.

The Urus has them covered as it provides a fully digital instrument cluster for the driver and two screen TFT display to take control of various aspects and systems of the SUV.The upper screen for entertainment and the lower screen for business(vehicular functions). The Urus comes standard with an 8-speaker system, which can be upgraded to a optional 21-speaker Bang & olufsen ultra premium system to keep us obsessed.

The important features of the interior are:

  • Apple CarPlay
  • Android Auto
  • Bluetooth
  • AM/FM/DAB Radio services
  • Speed sensitive volume control
  • Traffic Management System
  • 3D view camera with dynamic guidelines
  • Dual 2nd row LCD monitor
  • Multi-source rear audio controls

Exterior
7.4/10

The Urus is Lambo’s 1st SUV attempt at an SUV but they have managed to build the car like it was always their piece of cake. The 2021 model is a bit of a carry forward from the previous year. The Urus might be the only SUV or the first SUV to look that aggressive and aerodynamic,The Aventador element like the angry front has been incorporated into this car’s design and how not to mention the traditional grille that just makes the front whole lot better.

The Urus sits on large 23” wheels and that coupled with the tall boy stance gives it the perfect ground clearance to tackle most terrains. Now matter where you park it,drive it around you will always have eyes young and old look at the car.

The Bentayga as expected it the heaviest car but that is of not too much importance considering it is an SUV.However the Urus prove itself to be much more capable than the others, and is the lightest of the bunch making it agile and faster. The DBX does not seem to come into contention since it is the smallest SUV here and the Urus definitely has them both pinned.

Some of the highlight exterior features of the 2021 Lamborghini Urus are:

  • 21-23 inch alloy wheels
  • Adaptive Matrix LED headlights
  • Frameless doors
  • Aluminum hood
  • Carbon ceramic disc brakes
  • Carbon Fiber Splitter, front grill blades, side skirts, and rear valance

Safety
8.5/10

The Urus is a car that has a solid build and built to withstand the test of time.It comes equipped with ABS with individual channels, collision mitigation systems, etc. The car itself feels well put together and the expected attention to detail has been met.The brakes help in alerting the driver in case of impending collision. The new Urus gets improved set of active safety features and driver assistance features, these include the standard active assist package.

The highlight safety features are:

  • Adaptive cruise control with stop and go
  • Lane departure warning
  • Adaptive front lighting
  • Forward collision warning plus
  • Rear cross-traffic alert
  • Blindspot assist
  • Lane-keep assist
  • Tire pressure monitoring system
  • Hill descent control

2021 Lamborghini Urus vs 2021 Bentley Bentayga V8

The Bently is supposed to be the peak in terms of luxury and the body design. The luxury and the beauty is actually realized when you open the door to get inside the premium feeling just screams out everywhere.

The Urus however is built with a different purpose but can still take your breath away in terms of the luxury, comfort and the premium feel. But the Urus was built to fill you with adrenaline and blast past every small car on the road in sight and is more performance oriented. But the most important deciding factor here turns out to be the price since there is not much difference in comfort offered. The Bentley is way too expensive due to which the Urus seems a much better deal and it is.

2021 Lamborghini Urus vs 2021 Aston Martin DBX

Aston Martin is no new name in the industry, they have been making and have given us some really beautiful and premium cars for quite a long time like the DB11,DB9,wtc.

They too have tried their hands on making an SUV and the result of that is the DBX and is a wonderful car by its maker’s standards and on its own,but when pitched against the Urus it turns pale, the Urus makes absolute mincemeat of the DBX in almost all parameters except for the fuel efficiency front.

Final Verdict

The Lamborghini Urus might be one of the best offerings from the maker in terms of performance, luxury and practicality. It is a perfect bang for the buck and is a great vehicle to help you save time in getting to places and without hassle.Make sure you do have enough change to fill up that fuel tank often because that is the one thing and the only thing that can be called an issue with this masterpiece.
