Overview

The Kia Forte got a facelift just a couple of years ago and the 2024 Forte is carried forward with minimal changes. While Kia has been seen testing the next-generation Forte but we do not expect it to hit our shores before the 2025 model year. This year, Kia has re-packaged Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), the 2024 Forte GT-Line trim gets more driver aids as standard, and discontinued the GT-Line Tech Package. Prices for the 2024 Kia Forte starts at $19,790 for the base model and is available for sale in 4 trim configurations. This translates to a price hike of just $100 but the GT-Line model sees a jump in price by $400. This additional cost gets you Front Collision Alert (FCA) Fusion, a combination of Front Collision Alert-Cyclist (FCA-Cyc), Electronic Parking Brake (EPB), Highway Driver Assist (HDA), and Navigation Based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC) as standard over the previous model year. 

The Kia Forte 2024 has been released already and is available for sale at all dealerships and on the company website. The Forte offers great balance to budget car buyers in the compact sedan segment and hence is a popular offering. The frugal powertrain, feature-loaded cabin, and easy maintenance add great value to buyers. At this price point, the Forte faces tough competition from the likes of the Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra, Mazda 3, and Toyota Corolla. 

Buying Advice

The low starting price of the Forte means opting for the 2024 Kia Forte GT-Line trim makes for a smart choice at $22,290. For an added sum of $2,500 over the base LX trim, it brings along plenty of creature comforts and technology.

The highlight features include 17-inch alloy wheels, LED exterior lighting with LED DRLs, a two-zone climate control, cloth-covered sport seats with leather trims, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a big 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system making the compact sedan one of the most profitable bargains from the market.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

Powered by a 2L naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine, the Kia Forte does 0-60 MPH in 8.1 seconds and covers the quarter mile in 16.4 seconds. The 147 hp and 132 lb-ft of output translates to a top speed of 123 MPH and one of the best MPG ratings of 30 MPG in the city and 41 MPG on the highways. The 2024 Kia Forte GT gets a more powerful 1.6L turbo-4 engine which produces 201 hp and 195 lb-ft and can do the 0 to 60 MPH sprint in just 7.2 seconds. 

There are no changes to the exterior or the interior design of the Forte and apart from the limited legroom at the back, this Kia offers more than enough for all buyers, which includes the 15.3 cu-ft trunk space. Kia offers 9 different exterior paint color options for buyers along with 5 interior upholstery color options. In terms of safety, the NHTSA has rated the 2024 Forte with a 4-star rating while the IIHS has also rated it as "Good" in most aspects of their tests.

The Forte sedan also leads the pack in terms of reliability, scoring a class-leading 83/100 rating from J.D. Power. Expect the 5-year cost of ownership to be around $31,150 which is on par with the segment standards. Expect the repairs and maintenance costs to be around $3,250 for the 5-year period. Kia offers finance offers for the Forte for as low as 3.9% for a period of 48 months with a $2,000 down payment. Lease deals for the 2024 Forte also begin at attractive prices.

              Great Car and Beautifully Too!

              My Kia is amazing and it has excellent handling as well as fantastic gas mileage. The color is a glossy candy apple red. It has excellent brakes and I could not have got a better car. Also I have never had a car this brand new in my entire time of driving and when I got my Kia I was over the moon with happiness.
