Overview

The 2024 F-Type marks the 75th birthday of the brand, and with that marks the exit of the model from the market. Making a great amount of power with fine handling, and smooth ride quality, the F-Type is one of the best compact coupes out there, that blends style, and appearance, with power. Coming with lots of features, the 2024 F-Type not only makes the journey special and convenient but also one of the best vehicles in the segment. With that comes, the exhilarating amount of power and subtle handling that just delivers utmost pleasure, while the shivering acceleration is enough to burn down the track.

In a nutshell, the 2024 F-Type is a great coupe that not only gives one of the best experiences but is also a limited edition classic that in upcoming years will ask for a commendable value. Priced at $77,900, the 2024 F-Type competes directly against the 2024 BMW M2, the 2023 Lexus RC F, and the 2024 Porsche 718 Cayman.

Buying Advice

Considering everything, the F-Type R-Dynamic seems to be the best offering with everything under the roof and a great amount of power. Priced at $77,900, the base trim offers more than it asks for. Coming to the mid-trim, there is no change in power output, but if the AWD is the way out under one hundred thousand bracket, you can surely go for it. However, to unleash the best out of the F-Type, the R75 is the one you should get. And among the trio, only the mid-trim and top trim are available with AWD. So if all-wheel drive is your requirement, get any of the 75 and R75. but if you can settle with the RWD, get the R-Dynamic.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

Packing a supercharged V8 under the hood, the 2024 Jaguar F-Type not only takes care of a memorable driving experience but also the utmost pleasure that everyone seeks whenever we drive a performance car. The handling is out of the world, as is the power delivery, and in terms of design, the F-Type blends modernity with a timeless appearance. Don’t believe me, just look at the silhouette. Being a jaguar, it’s loaded with luxury features, and that is something that every trim carries forward. The 2024 F-Type is one of the best performance cars available in the segment, and if you want to experience the royal treatment, get this British-origin luxury coupe.

Features
7.0/10

Available in 3 trims - R-Dynamic, 75, and R75, the Jaguar F-TYPE is loaded with features, making the journey convenient for all. In terms of infotainment, all three trims pack the same features, however, where they differ are the elements. At a normal glance, all three are quite classy inside out, and the R-Dynamic and the 75 make the same power too. However, regarding features, the base trim, priced close to $78K is more casual than the other two, coming only with fewer features. With the R-Dynamic, almost most upclass features are missing such as the Ebony treatment, or the ambient lighting. Along with that, the base trim, unlike the upper duo, is not any limited edition, which makes it widely available, and later on, can be not as worthy as the 75 or the R75. however, the dealers and the aftermarket are always there to change the whole DNA, let alone the features.

Release Date

The 2024 F-Type was launched in the USA in January 2023 and will be available for deliveries from spring 2023.

Engine and Performance
6.2/10

Irrespective of price, drivetrain, and features, the 2024 Jaguar F-Type presents only one powertrain, a supercharged 5.0L V8, mated to an 8-speed automatic, making up to 575 horsepower @ 6500 rpm and 516 pound-feet of torque at 3500 rpm. Just like DNA suggests, this all-new F-Type is one of a kind machine that just disappears in a blink of an eye, whenever revved. Although, the F-Type offers only one kind of engine, depending on the trim, the core configuration changes. The base and mid trims come with the P450 configuration while the P575 configuration is reserved for the top trim, named R75. With the P575 in hand and a top speed of 186 mph, the R75 crosses the bar of 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds while the P450 takes around 4.0 seconds to meet the same. The 2024 F-Type is mechanized with both RWD and AWD, however, the rear-wheel drive is fixed for the R-Dynamic, and the 75 and R75 come standard with AWD, providing a more stable ride and handling.

Among the quad, the BMW M2 is something that the other trio doesn’t dare to threat. With a top speed of 181 mph, the M2 is always ready to smoke any of the mentioned coupes. Similar to the AMG, whenever an average BMW gets associated with the M tag, it suddenly becomes a beast, and this is the case here too. The Jaguar is probably the only one on the list to actually stand against the BMW, but if the Lexus and Porsche are taken into consideration, then we are forecasting the result. The 718 Cayman is no doubt one of the best coupes out there with the best handling, and timeless appeal, but in no way, it can face the F-Type, with a top speed of 170 mph, and 0.5 seconds behind the same to clock 60. The same story repeats with the RC F too. Among all, the M2 is the only one to come with a 6-speed manual that a true driver seeks.

2024 Jaguar F-TYPE Ride and Handling

The 2024 Jaguar F-Type drives like the predecessors, just this time, it gets better. The handling is more composed now, while the inner experience is more subtle. Well, that does not mean, the 2024 F-Type is the quiet kid in the class. Rather she is now a bit mature, with shivering acceleration, when required. It’s a Jaguar, thus the proper implementation of aerodynamics has always been there. With fender vents, hood ducts, adaptive dynamics, switchable active exhaust, and AWD, the 2024 F-Type delivers the best available driving experience possible. With a cherry on top, the coupe is also mechanized with an electronically active differential with torque vectoring by braking, which helps to make an efficient turning without losing much traction while balancing the power delivery making the ride and handling more stable. Coming with four driving modes - Normal, Rain/Ice/Snow, Dynamic, and Track, the 2024 F-Type not only provides a balanced yet sporty experience but also shakes the inner soul with the ignition of the Track mode. If you want to experience her true nature, drive her crazy with the Track mode where she acts like the bird who just got freedom after years passed in a cage.

2024 Jaguar F-TYPE Braking Performance

Mechanized with 4-wheel vented discs, the braking performance of the 2024 F-Type is quite satisfactory. Along with the big disc brakes, the F-Type is also mechanized with a range of brake assistance features such as an antilock braking system, automatic emergency braking, etc, which helps the coupe to stop timely. With a cherry on top, the electronic active differential with torque vectoring by brake lowers the distance without losing control in tight turns. The 15” rotors at the front and 14.8” in the rear do the job perfectly, to avoid were and tear, the brakes are well lubricated and ventilated which lowers the distance. With the top trim, 380 mm front and 376 mm rear brakes with red calipers have been installed, which improves the braking performance to a whole new extent.

Among the quad, the 2024 Jaguar F-Type is the heaviest while being mechanized with considerably big-sized rotors, coupled with other mechanisms. The Pirelli tires do their job in the best possible way, so as do the other components. Among all, the 718 Cayman Cayman is the one that offers the biggest front discs. With a 133 ft braking distance, the Cayman literally shines in the segment. Talking about the M2 and RC F, both are almost similarly weighed as the F-Type and while the M2 is mechanized with similar-sized brakes, that of the Lexus is smaller, and thus the latter covers more distance than any other coupes.

Fuel Economy
6.2/10

Don’t expect any extraordinary kind of efficiency from the supercharged V8. While in the city, the 2024 F-Type runs for around 17 miles per gallon, you can cruise for a good 24 miles on the highway. And with combined driving, around 19 mpg can be gained. However, the figures change slightly when the top trim is on the road, returning around 16/24/18 mpg. Equipped with an 18.5-gallon fuel tank, the 2024 F-Type can cruise for 444 miles on the highway, while 314.5 miles is the range in town.

Among the Porsche, Lexus, BMW, and Jaguar, the F-Type offers the longer range, thanks to the biggest fuel tank, however, if talking about efficiency, then the 718 Cayman is the clear winner. Where Cayman falls short is the fuel tank. Being smaller than both Lexus and Jaguar, Porsche is bound to visit more gas stations.

Interior
6.2/10

With 2 people on board, the F-Type is quite comfortable, with considerable space for both. There is no shortage of stretching. The heated ventilated perforated seats are 12-way adjustable and are mechanized with a memory function that makes them a lot more convenient. The dual-zone climate control makes it easy to drive in both summer and winter, while the heated leather-wrapped steering wheel comes in handy during the cold weather. Coming with an electronically adjustable steering column with a memory function, the F-Type provides a convenient experience for every driver. Being wrapped with leather, the column along with the steering wheel uplifts the overall ambiance. With that comes the tuned suspension setup, which along with the quality bucket front row and electronic active differential with torque vectoring by brake, provides utmost comfort, whenever there is a sharp turn or a broken unpaved road.

The 2024 F-Type, compared to the others, sits low with a good amount of shoulder area, while for stretching, a considerably good amount of legroom is there. No information is not available about the Porsche, but from the experience we had, the 718 Cayman is quite spacious with comfortable seats, and other amenities. The M2 provides quite a good headroom, although, in terms of other aspects, it falls short of the F-Type, whereas the Lexus is the one that offers really long legroom, increasing the level of comfort. All of the mentioned coupes offer good cargo areas, however, the F-Type seems to be a little better than them. The elephant in the room seems to be capable of loading everything you pour.

Infotainment System of the 2024 Jaguar F-TYPE

Coated with high-quality leathers, the interior of the 2024 F-Type is no doubt one of the most appealing cabins in the segment. However, without a number of features, everything in this modern world feels very inconvenient. Thus to make the journey more engaging, the 2024 F-Type is loaded with amenities and entertainment features to the ownership more enjoyable. Today we are tech bound, so much so, that in the absence of it, most of us won’t take a single step. However, with this coupe, that is not an issue. Mounting a driver interactive display, and a touchscreen on the deck, this Jaguar makes driving easy. With that the system is equipped with a navigation system, along with Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, it’s now easier to drive from point A to any unknown location. A good sound system is also there, however, that’s more for the audiophiles and less for the rest of us as the 380W Merdian stereo system really plays any song in its proper note, coupled with the amplifier & a subwoofer.

Some of the prominent features of the 2024 F-Type are:

  • 10" touchscreen
  • 12.3” interactive driver display
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Connected navigation pro
  • 10-speaker 380W Meridian sound system with subwoofer and 10 channel class D DSP amplifier
  • SiriusXM trial subscription

Exterior
6.2/10

Don’t read anything, just look at this marvelous piece of beauty. The silhouette alone is enough to make anyone fall in love with her. The design is remarkably soothing, with the netted massive grille at the front with the sharp LED headlights, and bumper, coupled with the elongated hood, with scoops on top. The scoops not only enhance the beauty but also improve the performance while keeping the engine bay cool. Similar to the front facia, the sides are equally appealing with a curvy straight approach to the rear fenders. At the back, a strikingly good LED treatment has been done that makes the coupe even more appealing. On the middle bumper, the switchable dual exhausts are placed, which along with the performance enhancements, paints the coupe look a bit more aggressive. The F-Type is designed in such a way as to make it appear like the Sigma female; she has to be presented in an aggressive appearance without compromising the composed, elegant presence, and the sleek roofline.

Coming with the 4.1” ground clearance, this Jaguar is good for city and highway rides, just don’t attempt to take it to any off-road section. Coming with a considerably long wheelbase, the F-Type is one of the most spacious coupes, except for the RC F and the M2. Although the M2 is a subcompact coupe, when it comes to the ultimate space and comfort, it rules over the trio. The RC F is the widest among the trio, however, proper information about the M2 and F-Type is unavailable. And being the tallest among the quad, the M2 offers quite a good headroom while the Jaguar and Porsche sit low.

Safety

The Jaguar F-Type is a luxury coupe that is known for providing a safe ride and handling for decades now. The 2024 edition is no different. Built robust, the coupe is safe inside and out, with proper safety measurements. Armed with a range of standard safety specs, the '24 F-Type offers numerous driver assistance features to keep the car safe from any type of collision, whether in front or from the side. With that comes the front and rear parking sensors mated to a rearview monitor so that insiders can be well aware of their surroundings as well as be cautious while parking. The adaptive speed limiter, traffic sign recognition, cross-traffic alert, and blind spot monitoring system come in handy at times, especially whenever there’s more than usual traffics. Scratching a luxury coupe like this won’t be settled for less, and the mentioned assist features take care of the machine to save thousands of bucks. Similar to any other car, multiple airbags are there to save the pilot and the co-pilot from head, shoulder, and knee injuries, which if unavailable can even make the on-boarders paralyzed. In short, the 2024 Jaguar F-Type is quite safe and sound and keeps everything sorted when it comes to safety.

Some of the prominent features are -

  • Forward-collision warning
  • Automated emergency braking
  • Lane-departure warning
  • Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go
  • Driver condition monitor
  • Traffic sign recognition and adaptive speed limiter
  • Lane-keeping assist
  • Optional blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert
  • Front and rear parking sensors
  • TPMS warning lamp

Competition

The 2024 Jaguar F-TYPE Vs. The 2024 Porsche 718 Cayman

Porsche always offers sleek performance, with a fine tune of handling. The Porsche 718 Cayman 2024 edition is no different, making 300 hp with the base trim, and 493 horsepower with the top-of-the-line. The seats are comfortable so the ride quality and the timeless presence just make the day with every glance. Compared to the 718 Cayman, the F-Type appears modern with the same timeless appearance and a more amount of power under the hood. With the 8-speed automatic, the F-Type no doubt offers better performance compared to the 718 Cayman, while for seamless driving for hours, the latter is the better choice.

The 2024 Jaguar F-TYPE Vs. The 2023 Lexus RC F

Known for its elegant presence, spacious interior that can seat up to 4 people, and powerful engine, the 2023 Lexus RC F is one of the best compact coupes in the segment, especially for a family of four. The 472-hp RC F, no doubt, drives well with subtle acceleration. However, what makes it familiar in the market, is the durability and reliability that the Lexus offers. Being the luxury image of Toyota, everything offered in the RC F is of high quality, and if with that, the coupe offers one of the most spacious cabins, then there is probably nothing better than this. Loaded with luxury features from deck to boot, the RC F is one of the best coupes in the segment, however, the F-Type is purely for those who want to unleash the beauty of power solo. At max the driver can allow another person, but not more than that. The 444-hp coupe may produce less than the Lexus, but the acceleration is more shivering. Frankly speaking, the F-Type is more fun to drive a car while, the RC F is more for families.

The 2024 Jaguar F-TYPE vs. The 2024 BMW M2

When M2 is there in the ring, there is nothing to say. This coupe is lower than the F-Type in terms of size, but in any other aspects, the M2 throws a cut-throat competition. Crunching more power than the competition, the M2 is not only shivering to drive but also the most spacious in the segment, providing the utmost comfort to all passengers. The power delivery is exhilarating, and the acceleration can send the inner soul out of the body in no time. Compared to the M2, the F-Type is more composed. While the M2 is the most insane kid in the class, the Jaguar shows its colors when required. Both are darn luxurious inside out, and cannot be compared directly, but most of the luxurious features of the M2 revolve around the performance enhancement, while that of the Jaguar focuses more on convenience and comfort.

Final Verdict

Well, there's no particular reason not to buy the 2024 F-Type. This birthday girl offers everything an enthusiast looks for. Timeless appeal is there with the touch of modernity, the sharp LED treatment uplifts the presence inside out. Packing a supercharged V8, the '24 F-Type has placed herself on top of the food chain. That exhilarating performance coupled with air-tight handling makes the coupe take any turn seamlessly. The interior is well coated with high-quality materials, with loaded features and amenities that not only make the ride better but also prosper the overall experience. Coming with ambient lighting in the cabin, this all-new coupe fixes the mood whenever out at night. The transmission is buttery smooth and feels good whenever we are inside to control this beast. Expecting a lag-free gear shifter is always welcome in such a luxury car that is so affordable. Coupled with that comes the 10-spoke 20" Pirelli wheels on the R75, which runs like a cheetah and does cornering like a pro. In a nutshell, the 2024 F-Type is one of the best coupes we have experienced to date, something that's not expectable at this price. With cherries on top, the 2024 edition marks the 75th birthday of the brand in the market, and the 2024 edition also marks the exit of the F-Type forever. Thus getting the F-Type will be no doubt a great investment.
